Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyra Harts.
Hi Kyra , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey in modeling began when I was just eight years old. Since then, I’ve traveled throughout the East Coast, pursuing opportunities that have helped me grow both personally and professionally. Every experience has taught me something new and shaped the person I am today.
As a biracial model, I’ve faced challenges and moments where I felt overlooked within the industry. Instead of letting those experiences define me, I chose to use them as motivation. They inspired me to start my own model coaching business, where I help aspiring models build confidence, develop their runway skills, and learn how to navigate the industry with self-assurance.
Outside of modeling, I’m also a preschool teacher. Working with children has strengthened my passion for mentoring and encouraging others. Whether I’m in the classroom or coaching future models, my goal is to help people believe in themselves, embrace who they are, and confidently pursue their dreams!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape who I am today. Throughout my modeling journey, I’ve faced rejection, self-doubt, and moments where I felt overlooked because I’m biracial. There were times when it seemed like I had to work twice as hard just to be seen or given the same opportunities.
I’ve also learned that success doesn’t happen overnight. It takes patience, consistency, and believing in yourself even when things don’t go as planned. Instead of allowing those experiences to discourage me, I used them as motivation to grow stronger and create opportunities for myself.
Those challenges ultimately led me to start my model coaching business. I want to help aspiring models build confidence, embrace their uniqueness, and understand that setbacks don’t define their potential. Every obstacle I’ve faced has reinforced my passion for uplifting others and reminding them that their individuality is their greatest strength.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a model, mentor, and preschool teacher, and each of these roles is connected through my passion for helping others build confidence and self-belief. Within the modeling industry, I specialize in runway work and confidence development, and I am currently building my own model coaching business designed to help aspiring models refine their walk, strengthen their presence, and navigate the industry with professionalism and self-assurance.
I am most known for my authenticity and resilience. Having been in the modeling industry since the age of eight, I have grown up within the space and learned early on the importance of staying grounded, confident, and true to oneself in an environment that can often be highly competitive and selective.
What sets me apart is my philosophy. I do not view modeling solely as performance, but as presence and mindset. I believe confidence is the foundation of success, and I strive to create a space where aspiring models feel seen, supported, and empowered to step into their full potential.
Outside of modeling, my work as a preschool teacher has deeply shaped the way I lead and mentor others. It has strengthened my patience, communication, and ability to nurture growth in meaningful ways. I am most proud of the impact I am able to make in both spaces, helping individuals believe in themselves and recognize the strength they already carry within them.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned throughout my journey is that confidence is not something you are given, it is something you build through experience, resilience, and self-belief. In both modeling and teaching, I have come to understand that setbacks and challenges are not indicators of failure, but opportunities for growth and redirection.
I have learned that you cannot control every environment you enter, but you can control how you carry yourself within it. There were moments in my journey where I felt overlooked or questioned, but those experiences ultimately taught me the importance of staying grounded in who I am and continuing to show up with purpose and consistency.
Another key lesson has been the power of authenticity. The more I leaned into being myself rather than trying to fit into expectations, the more doors naturally began to open. That realization has shaped not only my career, but also the way I now mentor others.
Ultimately, I have learned that success is not just about recognition, but about alignment, growth, and the ability to remain true to yourself while continuing to evolve.
