Hi Darius, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Darius Lassiter, professionally known as DeeMoney. I’m a music producer from Raleigh ‘North Carolina who discovered a passion for making beats at a 13. What started as a hobby quickly became something I wanted to pursue seriously, so I spent countless hours teaching myself, experimenting with different sounds, and developing my own style.
Like many producers, my journey wasn’t an overnight success. It took years of consistency, patience, and believing in my craft while building relationships and creating opportunities. Those years of hard work eventually led to placements with major artists and records that have reached millions of listeners around the world.
Today, I’m still focused on growing as a producer, creating timeless music, and expanding my brand. I see every accomplishment as another step in a much bigger journey, and I’m excited to continue building a legacy through the music I create.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been getting my music in front of the right people and staying motivated during the times when opportunities weren’t coming as quickly as I hoped. There were moments where I questioned whether all the hard work would pay off, but I kept reminding myself that success in this industry takes time.
I’ve also learned that talent alone isn’t enough—you have to understand the business side of music, build genuine relationships, and stay consistent even when no one is watching. Every setback has taught me something valuable and made me a better producer and person. Looking back, those challenges helped shape the work ethic and mindset that I have today.

My Future Plans Is to Score Movies Or even Do The Production For Major Commercials i was already apart of A Emmy Award Winning Netflix Series Called “Hollywood” So that was Huge.
