Today we’d like to introduce you to Tierra Norwood.
Hi Tierra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My entrepreneurial journey began after I had my daughter and was not given the option to work remotely or on a hybrid schedule. That experience forced me to think seriously about the kind of career and life I wanted to build. I needed greater flexibility for my family, but I also knew I wanted to continue doing meaningful work that created opportunities for others.
Before starting my company, I worked in economic and business development, helping entrepreneurs turn their ideas into sustainable businesses. After helping more than 300 people start and scale their businesses in just one year, I realized the knowledge, experience, and relationships I had developed could become the foundation of something of my own. I decided to bet on myself and launched Ajon’s Professional Solutions.
Today, I work as a consultant, trainer, and marketing strategist, helping entrepreneurs and organizations strengthen their brands, increase visibility, and create strategies for sustainable growth. What began as a need for flexibility became a purpose-driven company that allows me to support my family while helping other people build businesses and lives that work for them.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth or easy road. One of my greatest challenges has been managing cash flow while working with organizations and government entities. Although I had signed contracts and completed the work, payments were often issued by check, and there were times when I waited more than five months to be paid.
Those delays had very real consequences. At one point, I lost my home while waiting for money I had already earned. That experience taught me that having contracts and generating revenue does not always mean a business has accessible cash. It also showed me how easily delayed payments can affect a small business owner’s personal life, especially when you are supporting a family.
As painful as that season was, it made me a stronger and more strategic business owner. I learned the importance of stronger payment terms, diversified income, financial reserves, and advocating for small businesses when working with larger institutions. I am still standing, still growing, and more determined than ever to build a business that creates long-term stability and generational wealth for my family.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Ajons Professional Solutions?
Ajon’s Professional Solutions is a business development and marketing company that helps entrepreneurs, small businesses, nonprofits, and organizations turn their ideas into clear, actionable strategies. We specialize in business consulting, marketing strategy, website development, social media management, branding, digital tools, AI education, and professional training.
We are especially known for helping rural and first-generation entrepreneurs who may not have access to the networks, funding, or guidance that other business owners have. I understand what it feels like to build something without a blueprint, so I focus on making business information practical and easy to understand. I do not simply tell clients what they should do. I help them create the strategy, develop the materials, implement the plan, and measure the results.
What sets Ajon’s Professional Solutions apart is the combination of education and execution. I can teach a business owner how to market their company, but I can also build the website, develop the campaign, create the content, identify partnerships, and help them put systems in place. My experience in economic development, business development, marketing, broadcasting, and training allows me to understand both the entrepreneur’s needs and the expectations of the organizations serving them.
I am most proud of the trust the brand has earned. Ajon’s Professional Solutions was named the Women’s Business Center of North Carolina’s 2023 Small Business of the Year, but my greatest accomplishment is seeing the people I have supported increase their confidence, gain visibility, secure opportunities, and build sustainable businesses.
I want readers to know that this brand was created to help people thrive on purpose, in business, and in life. Whether someone needs a business strategy, stronger marketing, a professional website, hands-on consulting, or training for an entire organization, my goal is to meet them where they are and help move them toward measurable growth.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next five to ten years, I believe content will become one of the most valuable assets a business can own. Small businesses will no longer be able to treat social media and video as optional marketing activities. Content will function as their storefront, search engine, sales team, and connection to customers.
Short-form video, live streaming, educational content, and creator partnerships will continue shaping how people discover brands and make purchasing decisions. Businesses that consistently show their expertise, personality, products, and customer experiences through video will have a major advantage.
I also see tremendous growth in creator entrepreneurship. Many content creators know how to attract an audience, but they have not been taught the business behind their influence. They need support with pricing, contracts, taxes, branding, intellectual property, partnerships, analytics, and building multiple income streams. My goal is to help creators understand that they are not just posting content. They are building businesses and valuable personal brands.
At the same time, I want to help traditional small businesses understand the power of digital marketing, especially video content. A business does not need millions of followers to generate results. It needs the right message, consistent content, a clear audience, and a strategy that turns attention into trust and trust into sales.
Artificial intelligence will make content creation faster and more accessible, but authentic storytelling and human connection will become even more important. The businesses and creators who combine technology with real personality, strong strategy, and sound business practices will be the ones that grow and remain relevant.
