Daily Inspiration: Meet Sharon & Jermaine Marsh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon & Jermaine Marsh.

Hi Sharon & Jermaine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Marsh’s Rentals, started with my husband and I just having a discussion about life and dreams for the future. He had a part-time job. I suggested if you’re going to work why not work for yourself. From there we started discussing what was his passion, what did he love doing. This is how we came up with Marsh’s Rentals.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a learning experience and still a learning experience for us. We’ve had a lot of rough roads, Starting a business as an assumed name into a S Corporation. Starting from the ground up off of your money. Because everyone will not give money to a new business that doesn’t have anything yet. But God has put people in our path that has been a blessing. They’ve shared information, given advice and some that has given us that push to keep going.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Marsh’s Rentals, we’re family-based company. When it started it was parttime, Now I work with the company, my daughter has worked at the company full time for 7 years. We have family members that work parttime when needed. I’m most proud of the fact that God has blessed us to be able to help someone with keeping a job, being able to meet payroll every week has been a blessing.
Another thing that makes my heart feel good is when I set up someone’s event and they have this smile on their face that they’re pleased. This is what feels so good, because you contributed to someone’s dream. This is when you say thank you Jesus.
Marsh’s Rentals specialize in talking with you about your vision, our goal is to make it a reality. We’re a rental company that delivers and setup. I think the setup is what sets us apart from other rental companies. We place your linen on the table as well as the place settings just to give you an idea. We want to make everything as easy as possible for the client.
One thing we’ve always known if you put God first, he will bring you through.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I wouldn’t call it luck; I call it Grace. God’s Grace has kept us and the business. Life throws some curve balls, but you have to get the good from it. I could tell you one thing that happened with us in the beginning. When we were in the beginning stages and discussing how to get started, this was God. We were riding and talking about what we needed to start the business. We were talking about a box truck. Well, I looked out the window and seen one for sale. We went back talk to the owner of the truck; we were not in the area. We didn’t have all the money to buy the truck, this man we had never seen before agreed to sale us the truck and told us when we start to make money to bring him the balance. This is one of those times I knew God was walking with us. That is just one of God’s Blessings.
