Meet Wabbae of Raleigh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wabbae.

Hi Wabbae, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Wabbae, and I’m a content creator across Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Kick, and other social platforms. What began as a way to share my love of gaming has grown into a community I’m incredibly proud of, known as The Pod.

My content primarily focuses on horror, survival, and simulation games, but the heart of my content has always been the community surrounding it. I strive to create a space where people can relax, laugh, be themselves, and feel welcome regardless of their background or identity. Kindness, inclusivity, and mutual respect are values I’ve made central to The Pod and the content I create.

Before pursuing content creation, I served in the U.S. Air Force as an F-15E fighter jet mechanic. My background as a mechanic has also carried into my personal life through my involvement in the car community. I currently own a 2005 Volkswagen GTI and enjoy the hands-on, creative, and social aspects of automotive culture.

Today, I’m continuing to grow as a creator while pursuing a degree in Game Art. Between gaming, digital art, cars, and content creation, many of my interests revolve around creating, building, and understanding how things work. My goal is to continue bringing those interests together while growing The Pod into an even larger positive and welcoming community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has definitely not always been smooth. One of my biggest challenges has been maintaining consistency while balancing content creation with school, family, and everyday responsibilities. Streaming and creating content can require significantly more time behind the scenes than people realize, from editing videos and creating graphics to managing social media and maintaining a community.

Growth has also been a challenge. Content creation is an extremely competitive space, and there have been times when putting a great deal of effort into a stream or piece of content has resulted in very little growth or engagement. Learning not to measure success entirely by numbers has been an important part of the process.

These challenges have pushed me to become more adaptable and intentional about the content I create. I’m still learning how to balance everything, but I’ve become much better at setting realistic goals, experimenting with new ideas, and focusing on building a genuine community rather than simply chasing numbers.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My creative work centers around content creation, gaming, digital art, and my involvement in the automotive community. As a content creator, I produce live and short-form content across platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok, with a focus on horror, survival, and simulation games. Beyond streaming, I handle much of the creative work behind my brand, including graphics, video editing, stream production, community engagement, and developing interactive experiences for my audience.

I’m also pursuing a degree in Game Art, where I’m continuing to develop my skills in areas such as 3D modeling, texturing, animation, and game development. I enjoy both the artistic and technical sides of creating, particularly understanding how individual pieces come together to create a finished experience.

That same interest extends into the automotive world. I’m part of the car community and own a 2005 Volkswagen GTI. Cars give me another outlet for my interest in mechanics, customization, creativity, and hands-on work, while also connecting back to my previous experience as an Air Force fighter jet mechanic.

What I’m most proud of is that I’ve built a brand and community that genuinely reflect who I am. Gaming, art, technology, cars, and community may seem like very different interests, but together they make my work and perspective unique.

What’s next?
Looking ahead, one of my biggest goals is to continue growing both as a content creator and as an artist. I’m beginning my bachelor’s degree in Game Art, which will allow me to further develop my skills in 3D modeling, animation, texturing, and game development while preparing for a professional career within the gaming industry.

At the same time, I plan to continue growing Wabbae and The Pod across Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms. I want to expand beyond simply streaming games by creating more original content and finding ways to incorporate my art and game-development skills into what I create.

Ultimately, I would love for content creation and game art to become interconnected parts of my career. Whether that means working professionally within the game industry, developing projects of my own, growing content creation into a full-time career, or a combination of all three, I’m excited to see where these opportunities take me.
