Today we’d like to introduce you to Xavier Ware.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Xavier Ware, I am from Beaufort, North Carolina. My drum journey began in church at the age of 2! I had my first paid church gig at the age of 4!
From a young age I was dedicated and passionate for the instrument. With the help of natural talent, I was able to excel at my craft and participate in the prestigious North Carolina All-state Jazz Band in high school 3 different years!
My drum style combines power, finesse and musical sensitivity with a modern approach. This approach to drums has started to earn me a reputation as an exceptional session and touring drummer around the world! It is insanely exciting to even be close to a household name, and something I would never take for granted. I am grateful to inspire so many musicians and drummers along this journey! It is such a privilege!
I shoot home studio content for work almost daily. Outside of the studio, you can find me performing pop, gospel, hardcore, jazz or thrash metal!
My first international touring experience with the band Bilmuri introduced my playing to audiences around the world and in turn, further helped establish me as one of the most talked about drummers of today. I’ve also been fortunate enough to work with front man Mike Muir, which has ultimately led to my appointment as the new drummer for the legendary hardcore punk band, Suicidal Tendencies.
I strive forever to provide a deep and meaningful musical performance every time I sit behind the drums. My playing is a reflection of my commitment to creativity, versatility, and, being intentional.
Thanks for having me on to share my story!
I proudly endorse these companies:
Meinl Cymbals, Meinl Stick & Brush, Pearl Drums, Kelley Drums, Evans Drumheads, RockLocks, Tandem Drum Drops, LowBoy Custom Beaters, and Lauten Audio.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The hardest part if some tours is having all flight days.
This usually means an early lobby call after a late show.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional drummer specializing in just about all things drums! I am the most proud of not giving up on my dreams when times got tough! I’m known for how musical my playing can be. People say that my specific drum sound sets me apart from other drummers.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Parents- allowed me to express the gift of music throughout life.
Grandparents- allowed me to practice all day long in their garage sometimes joining me.
Andy Wright (high school band teacher)
Helped me break out of several comfort zones that talent alone would have kept me in.
Thomas Taylor (college drum professor)
Instilled many different dynamic ranges in my playing and helped me find a different mental attitude behind drums.
