Meet Lormarev Jones of North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lormarev Jones.

Hi Lormarev, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been working in the performing arts in some capacity since I was 8. I majored in Theatre at Meredith College in Raleigh (with a dance minor) and I have working in the Theatre or Theatre adjacent for my entire adult life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been an unexpected road. Knowing when to say yes to opportunities, however odd or foreign to me. People who work in the arts can sometimes have difficulty pitching their skill set to folks unfamiliar with arts workers. Artists are some of the hardest working folks I know. Finding a balance between work that pays and work that is artistically satisfying is always a challenge.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
NRACT is a truly special place. We’re located in the Greystone Shopping Center in North Raleigh off of Lead Mine Road. We produce a full mainstage season of shows for adults, and we also have a robust education program that offers theatre training for all ages. Our space is super intimate, seating just about 100 patrons, and the theatre is known for offering plays and musicals that you might not see anywhere else. For example, this season, all of the musicals we’re presenting are new to the triangle theatre scene.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We offer subscriptions to our whole season, as well as flex passes if you wanna pick and choose!

Pricing:

  • $25 for adults
