Today we’d like to introduce you to Sidnee Troutman.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Sidnee’s Batch Co. started with my love for creating things that make people smile. I’ve always been creative, but I truly found my passion when I discovered cookie decorating. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a business I couldn’t wait to grow.
Today, I create custom sugar cookies for life’s biggest celebrations and host cookie decorating classes that bring people together in a fun, welcoming environment. My goal is simple—to create beautiful cookies, help people make memories, and spread a little extra joy along the way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s part of building any small business. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve dealt with self-doubt, learning new skills, and figuring things out as I go. There have been moments where I’ve questioned myself or wondered if I was doing enough, but I’ve learned that growth comes from showing up consistently—even when things aren’t perfect.
One of the biggest lessons has been learning to be patient. Building a business takes time, and every class, custom order, and market has helped me grow a little more.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a cookie artist specializing in custom decorated sugar cookies and beginner-friendly cookie decorating classes. I love creating cookies that help people celebrate life’s special moments while making decorating fun and approachable for everyone.
What I’m most proud of is creating experiences, not just cookies. Whether it’s a custom order or one of my classes, my goal is to help people make memories and leave with a smile. I think what sets me apart is the care I put into every detail and my passion for bringing people together through creativity.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I’ve found that networking happens naturally when you show up—whether that’s taking classes, attending local events, connecting with other small business owners, or simply engaging with people online.
My advice is to stay curious, build genuine relationships, and don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. Some of the best opportunities have come from simply putting myself out there and being willing to learn- and to be comfortable with being uncomfortable at times.
