Meet Kadedra Jacobs of Houseplant Goods

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kadedra Jacobs.

Hi Kadedra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been my father’s caregiver since he was diagnosed with dementia about 8 years ago. As his memory loss progressed, he became a picky eater — and vegetables and fruits definitely weren’t on his list. He was also on blood pressure medication, so my goal became clear: eliminate as many meds as I could, at least the ones within my control. That meant finding a way to get him eating healthier.

After a few days of thinking and praying, it hit me: JUICE.

I remember driving to Walmart and picking up a $50 juicer — that’s all I could afford at the time, and honestly, I had no idea what I was doing anyway. I researched fruits and vegetables known to help with blood pressure and started juicing everything: celery juice, beet juice, green juice — any combination I could find to get more nutrients into my dad. At first, he hated it. (Honestly, he probably still does.) But it changed him from the inside out.

After about two months, he was off his blood pressure medication completely, with regular bowel movements to match. That’s when I knew — we were cooking with grease.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth? Lol, far from it. Houseplant Goods has been a rollercoaster for me. One, I’m an introvert, so advertising is not my specialty. Two, I’m still a caregiver, and my dad is now in hospice. Some days I battle mentally with balance — still choosing to be an entrepreneur while being a caregiver first. That is tough.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Houseplant Goods?
I create blends of fruits and vegetables that heal the body — and actually taste great. That’s what sets me apart. Most people build juice around ingredients alone; I build mine around ingredients that blend well and come together beautifully. I have clients who buy gallons for their children. Yes, CHILDREN!

My brand is minimalist. I believe less is more, especially when the juice does the talking. 🙂

We offer cleanses, wellness shots, juices by the bottle, and juices by the gallon.

What does success mean to you?
Success is having more time in your day to do what brings you peace in the chaos.
