Meet Ashley Goode of Asha’s Garden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Goode.

Hi Ashley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Becoming a Conjure Woman and Death Doula was truly a personal journey. My journey began with my own spiritual exploration and a deep curiosity about healing, ancestral wisdom, and the unseen parts of ourselves. As I continued learning and developing my own spiritual practice, I realized that this wasn’t just something I wanted to experience for myself—I wanted to create space for others to explore their own healing and spiritual paths. That vision became Asha’s Garden, my spiritual practice where I work as a spiritual practitioner, healer, and guide. Through offerings such as energy healing, spiritual guidance, ancestor work, meditation, and intentional wellness experiences, I help Black and indigenous women reconnect with themselves, their intuition, and their own spiritual practices. Over the years, Asha’s Garden has evolved as I have. I’ve learned that my role isn’t to tell people what their spiritual journey should look like, but to hold space for them as they discover it for themselves. Today, Asha’s Garden is a reflection of that philosophy: a sacred space for exploration, healing, connection, and transformation.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to grow a spiritual practice while also navigating my own growth and evolution. As I’ve changed, my understanding of my work, my offerings, and even what I want Asha’s Garden to become has changed too.

There have also been challenges around building community, staying consistent, and learning how to balance the spiritual side of the work with the realities of running a business. I’ve had moments where things didn’t work out the way I envisioned, but those experiences taught me patience, discernment, and the importance of allowing things to evolve organically.

I’ve learned that the path doesn’t have to be linear to be meaningful. Some of the biggest lessons have come from the seasons when I had to pause, reassess, and trust that I was still being guided in the right direction. Those experiences have ultimately made me a better practitioner and have helped me understand how important it is to give others the same grace as they navigate their own journeys.

As you know, we’re big fans of Asha’s Garden. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Asha’s Garden is my spiritual practice, where I work as a spiritual practitioner, healer, and guide. I offer energy healing, spiritual guidance, ancestor work, meditation, and intentional wellness experiences designed to help Black and Indigenous women reconnect with themselves, their intuition, and their spiritual practices. My work is rooted in the belief that healing can look different for everyone, and there isn’t one right way to navigate a spiritual journey.

What sets Asha’s Garden apart is that I’m not here to tell people what their spirituality should look like. I create intentional, judgment-free spaces where people can explore, ask questions, reconnect with their inner knowing, and develop a relationship with their own spirituality. My approach is deeply personal because I’m also continuously learning and evolving in my own practice.

What I’m most proud of is the space I’ve created and the trust people place in me when they allow me to walk alongside them during meaningful transitions in their lives. I want people to know that Asha’s Garden isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about creating a safe space to explore, heal, reconnect, and discover what feels true for you.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is the summers I spent with my cousins. Those were the times I felt the freest to be myself and share all of the things I loved, especially the things other people might have considered “nerdy”—J-pop, anime, J-dramas, and all of my other little interests. There was something really special about being around people who let me be completely myself without judgment. Looking back, I think those summers taught me how important it is to have spaces where you can show up authentically, be celebrated for your interests, and simply enjoy being who you are.
