Today we’d like to introduce you to Krishna Regula.
Hi Krishna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My Story
I have been an artist since childhood. Some of my earliest and happiest memories are of spending my summer holidays drawing, painting, and experimenting with anything I could get my hands on. I loved creating art not just with traditional materials, but with all kinds of unexpected things—from candle wax to Styrofoam. For me, art was always about curiosity, creativity, and finding new ways to bring an idea to life.
My love for art was also something I inherited from my family. My father and his brother were both artistic, and I spent a lot of time watching them draw. Their creativity had a strong influence on me, and I was fortunate to be naturally good at art in school as well.
Life eventually took me in a different professional direction, and I became a physical therapist. I love what I do, but being a therapist keeps me very busy with patients and everyday responsibilities. Even so, my passion for art never really went away.
Over the years, I continued nurturing that passion through endless experimentation and self-learning. I explored different mediums, techniques, and styles, often learning by observing and following the work of talented artists I admire. I believe that an artist never really stops learning, and that mindset has kept me experimenting and improving.
Today, art has become much more than a childhood hobby for me. It is a creative outlet, a way to challenge myself, and something that continues to bring me a great sense of fulfillment. I’m still learning, still experimenting, and most importantly, still creating—just like I did during those summer holidays as a child.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has It Been a Smooth Road?
Not at all. There have been quite a few challenges along the way, both personally and professionally.
Building a career, pursuing higher education, and eventually moving to another country brought many changes and responsibilities. Each transition meant stepping out of my comfort zone, adapting to a new environment, and balancing work and personal life. There were times when my career and education had to take priority, leaving very little time for art.
But my interest in art never disappeared. Even during the busiest phases of my life, I continued to find ways to create, experiment, and learn whenever I had the opportunity.
Looking back, I think those challenges actually shaped me as an artist. They taught me patience, persistence, and the importance of continuing to pursue something you genuinely love—even when life takes you in unexpected directions. Art remained a constant thread throughout all those changes, and today I’m grateful that I never let go of it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
