Daily Inspiration: Meet Briana Mason-Bryant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Mason-Bryant.

Hi Briana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always been an individual who has a strong work ethic & always seeking a second income. In the past, I’ve worked a full-time office job & work retail just to build my savings. I’ve been searching for something that would keep my interest, help develop my creative mind & be profitable long-term. In May of 2020, my younger sister wanted decor for her 25th birthday party & I had recently watched YouTube tutorials on balloon garlands. I told her to leave it to me, & that was my first event that sparked the idea of Lovly Decora balloon event backdrops and balloon garland business. This was something that let me show my creativity & brought smiles to others; the icing on top is knowing that this could not only be my extra income but an avenue to be an entrepreneur.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I started my balloon even business in the middle of a pandemic so it surely did come with a set of unique challenges! Of course, there were not many events due to the social distancing restrictions. I was drawn to create Lovly Decora due to my own passion & interest in the artistry of balloons and photo backdrops. I also knew that I would have more success once the pandemic subsided. I spent much of this time practicing garlands, learning & creating my style. In the beginning, many of my clients were friends & family who have supported me along the way.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Lovly Decora provides balloon decor for special events where you want to make a statement. I have backdrops ranging from faux green to shimmer sequin walls that I provide for clients, but my specialty is balloon garlands. My garlands typically include up to 3 different colors of all different sizes to add dimension & specialty balloons that compliment & make the piece pop. What sets me apart from others is that I use quality latex balloons that can last up to 3 months. I am mainly proud of my success so far from being self-taught, also continuing to expand on my knowledge from learning from the gurus of the industry.

What’s next?
I am looking to expanding my inventory, which includes adding more backdrop options & using props like marquee letters & florals. My goal is to expand my clientele ranging from corporate events to weddings. In the next year, I plan to market Lovly Decora by networking with others in the event planning industry. My dream is to grow my business enough to leave my full-time office job & be my own boss. I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur, have financial stability, & provide something I can pass down to my future children.
