The Cactus Property (“Cactus”) is a real estate investment company that focuses on building, buying, renovating, selling, renting and financing of selected properties. Our properties are located in the Dominican Republic, the United States, and Italy. We are expanding to the emerging markets, and notably West Africa. Cactus’ founder and visionary, Cleveland Seignon, is of Haitian descent and believes that everyone is entitled to access to affordable shelter and place to live.
As is well-known, the lack of stable affordable housing is at the root of the many social problems in our world today and this includes poverty, homelessness, educational disparities, and the lack of health care. For example, many families spend at least half of their earned income on housing that they do not owe. Cactus was therefore created to help solve this lack of ownership problem so that everyone has a realistic opportunity to own a home.
Cactus designs and builds residential homes and certain commercial properties – such as hotels and schools. We have the ability to think outside the box with respect to appropriate financing structures with clients. Cactus seeks to deliver our projects on budget and on time without difficulties because this is the one certain way to forge lasting relationships and durable reputation.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Access to credit was very difficult but we been able to use what some people called susu, tontine, sol in the afro Caribbean diaspora, its a form of rotating saving and credit association, a type of informal savings club arrangement between a small group of people who take turn by throwing hand.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I studied Business Management in Haiti and Italy also Biotechnology in USA.
