Today we’d like to introduce you to Season Moore.
Hi Season, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My first work in photography was with film cameras at a photo studio in Atlanta, Ga. After moving to Raleigh in 1998, I started Season Moore Photography in 2005. At that point, I was mostly portrait work with families and children. In 2015, I opened my studio space and began transitioning from portrait work to primarily headshots, commercial and branding photography.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The photography industry has changed a lot over the years – I went from being one of a handful of photographers in Raleigh to one of hundreds (thousands?). With an over saturated market comes many challenges; I made the decision to move primary to corporate photography for this reason. Competing with a large pool of photographers, ranging from hobbyist to professionals decisions must be made to maintain a livable full-time salary. I want to be able to provide the best service to my clients and keep my sanity!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My first job in photography was shooting yearbook photos and high school football games just after high school. While not fine art, I learned the basics of film photography and developing, posing, and studio lighting. After moving to Raleigh and spending a few years in the corporate world, I made the transition from film to digital photography and opened Season Moore Photography in 2005. My goal is not only a fun and stress-free experience but I pride myself on being a vetted professional that clients can rely on. It’s an honor to working with and supporting other small business owners in the area.
I specialize in contemporary family portraits, stylized cake smash sessions and senior portraits as well as headshots, modeling portfolios and commercial photography.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
That you never stop learning, growing and adapting with the times or you will be left behind.
