Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Haigler.
Hi Heather, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always loved and had a high appreciation for style, beauty, and home decor. My grandmother and mom were always dressed up and as a young girl, so I looked up to them and their fashion and beauty sense. After college, I got a job at a textile company planning trade shows and events. As the planner, I worked closely with the home textile designers to create amazing experiences in our trade show booths using the fabric. It was such a fun job – I got to work with fabric every day and be creative with concepts for booths and events.
The process side of my brain recognized a lot of inefficiencies within our event department. Not only were we coordinating the event, we were also responsible for everyone attending the event – their travel, hotel, activities, etc. So, I developed an app to help make all of that coordination easier for our team.
The app turned into a full-blown business venture in 2016 – 2020. When Covid -19 hit the world, it hit the event industry especially hard, and my team and I were laid off. Other life experiences have led me to place high importance on a healthy lifestyle. My family and I try to eat as much organic and non-GMO food as possible. I also replaced my beauty and home products with natural and chemical-free products.
When I lost my job, I knew I couldn’t be idle because I love being busy, so I started sharing more of the products I used on Instagram. I got so many messages from people that we’re thankful for the information that I shared, so I decided to create a blog. I share a mixture of fashion, beauty products, healthy recipes, and general lifestyle information. My mission is to help women feel and look their best without spending a fortune. The fashion and products I share are affordable and budget-friendly. It’s sometimes overwhelming to try new products or know what outfit to choose, so if I can help take that burden off of busy women and moms, then that makes me happy.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The biggest challenge I’ve faced is my own insecurities. Will people like my posts? Do people even like my style? It’s also hard not to get caught up in the comparison game and defining your success by likes and followers. I’ll be honest, I can get really down about it sometimes, and I ask myself is it really worth it, but the answer is always yes. Because if I help even one person, it’s worth it for me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Throughout my career, I have worked with a lot of different types of people with an organization as well as had to work with customers and clients. I’ve always had a knack for quickly building rapport with people and making them feel at ease. And I’m really good at staying calm while things may be chaotic!
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I love working with people and brands that share the same mission as I do – helping women. The best support I can have is people following me on my social channels and sharing my pages and blogs with others!
