Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony Franklin.
Tony, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2010 when I graduated undergrad there were no jobs in my career field. I started working in retail management for a large corporation and then worked as a store manager for Starbucks before transitioning into the field of education. I managed after-school programs for multiple sites and then taught 3rd-grade math and science and worked as a teacher recruiter for the second-largest school district in Texas. During that time period, I earned two master’s degrees and still felt as if I were missing THE thing that I was supposed to do.
In 2018, I started studying for my realtor’s license for New York where my family was moving. I started working as a relator in 2019 for a boutique firm in Rochester, NY for just shy of two years where I learned the ins and outs of real estate. Having a very successful career in Upstate NY my family and I decided we wanted to have a different quality of life for our two children and to experience less harsh winters. We moved to Raleigh at the end of January 2021 and I started working as a Realtor with Costello Real Estate and Investments and recently partnering with another agent’s team at Costello: Clemons and Co. Now I am working full time as a realtor, helping buyers, sellers and investors with home sales here in the Triangle. I can say that I have found “THE THING that inspires me to be my best and is a culmination of all of the experiences in various fields into one career.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect? My life has not been a smooth road the following items happened along the way:
in 2008 I lost my mom to congestive heart failure at the age of 20. I was in my union year of undergrad and it was one of the most difficult times of my life. Not knowing how to process and still go about life at the same time. I was fortunate enough to have friends and a few family members help me through this process. Also, friends that are still present this day which mean a ton to me and my now family.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a full-time Realtor with Costello Real Estate and Investments here in the Triangle, I work alongside a few other realtors on our team helping those who are buying, selling, and investing in Real Estate.
As a full-time realtor, I work with clients throughout the day to attain their goals of purchasing their first or 3 home and everything in between. Assisting home sellers with selling their homes to relocate, downsize or upgrade their current dwelling. Also, working with Investors as they purchase homes or other real estates in the Triangle area.
I specialize in relocation and am considered a “relocation expert.” Meaning that I help those who are not from the Raleigh area or other areas around the country to move to a new location, by helping create a plan and assisting with connecting the appropriate professionals to ensure a smooth transition.
I am most proud of the support that I receive from my clients and being able to have their confidence in my skill set and trust that I am working diligently on their behalf no matter the price point or how soon or far out their goal is.
One thing that I would like to share about being a realtor is that our business is built off of word of mouth and personal experiences being shared. Also, a little-known fact is that Relators are able to assist you with your desire to sell or buy no matter where you live. I would be honored to help create a plan for your next move and connect you with the appropriate service professionals to assist with your next move, to Raleigh or the surrounding area or any other state.
I offer free consultations for both buyers and sellers, where we talking about the process and create a tailored plan for your real estate needs.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson that I have learned has been to keep God first in everything that I do. I know for sure that without him in my life, I would not have made it thus far and on track to accomplish some of the greatest goals of my life and career.
