Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Clarkin.
Hi Kim, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My time in the hospitality industry started 17 years ago at the age of 15. In college, it was a great way to work full time at night while attending classes during the day. I attended UNC (Go Heels!) and obtained a degree in Sociology. As a bartender, working among people of all different backgrounds with stories to tell, was intriguing and felt very natural to me. Upon graduating, I pursued a career as a Practice Manager of Medical Spa. Bartending was something I just could never let go of. I continued to bartend along with my career. During the pandemic and restaurant shut down, I began thinking of ways to expand my hospitality career as an entrepreneur. The idea of a mobile bar, being able to bring a party anywhere to patrons influenced my decision. I believe in the power of positive energy and the impact we all have on each other’s energy fields. My team and I love bringing good vibes and setting the tone for events. The best part of this adventure is seeing guests living in the moment and being happy.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
My favorite quote is, “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.” As a first-time entrepreneur opening a business during a pandemic, all while working two other jobs, is going to come with struggles. What is the fun of achieving a goal without obstacles to hurdle?

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I see the mobile bar industry growing drastically. Trendy cocktails and personalized events that focus on guest’s experience is on the up and up. One of the largest advantages of having your own private bartending service is the extent of details and personal touches is limitless!
