Exploring Life & Business with Hannah Weisberg of The Women’s Social Club

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Weisberg.

Hi Hannah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My story has a lot of twists and turns, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. There have been more jobs and moves than I care to admit, ranging from account management fresh out of college in NYC, to getting engaged and moving to Boston, losing my dream job in Miami, to landing back in my hometown of Raleigh with a husband and a baby on the way.

After yet another (very short) move to NYC for my husband’s job three years ago, I decided it was time to officially make Raleigh our home and take the leap and open my own business, Dove & Olive Mercantile. It was in the process of pivoting this business during COVID where I found my motivation, my purpose, and ultimately, The Women’s Social Club.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has been anything but a smooth process to get where I am today. I was unexpectedly closing the doors to one business because of a once-in-a-generation pandemic, while simultaneously pivoting into and launching an entirely new business.

Dove & Olive’s Mercantile space started off as my personal mission to create a single place for the Raleigh community to gather, but when I had to close the Mercantile location due to the extended impact of COVID-19, my mission evolved. One of the things I loved most about our original space was the workshops we held, and it was in putting those workshops together that I began to understand where my true passion lies. My sole purpose is to be a connector of people, specifically other women, through creating authentic experiences designed to help cultivate genuine relationships for the women in our community.

This realization is what led to the evolution of The Women’s Social Club.

When launching a business based on creating a community that gathers together in person during a pandemic, everything has to be extremely safe and intentional. Through this level of required creativity when putting together our monthly events, The Women’s Social Club has completely set itself apart from any other women’s organization. The best part? As we continue to grow, we’re also helping to grow other local, women-owned businesses and organizations!

We’ve been impressed with The Women’s Social Club, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Women’s Social Club (WSC) is a membership-based community of women supporting other women through curated networking.

WSC’s program offers three monthly meet-ups where we rotate between Networking Nights, Workshops, and our recently launched Community Building events.

Our Networking Nights feature a different local woman in business, providing our members and visitors the opportunity to learn more about our city’s female founders and business owners. These events also include a time for mingling, drinks, and unique (fun!) networking activities.

With our hands and minds focused on a fun project, we’re automatically more comfortable in a new setting with new people! WSC’s Workshop Socials focus on bringing our members and visitors together through a variety of hands-on activities. Past workshops have included everything from candle-making and floral arranging, to yoga and wine tasting, just to name a few!

WSC’s recently launched Community Building program has become a member and visitor favorite! Every month we feature a different community leader or non-profit founder to partner up with. These events are centered around participating in volunteer opportunities, as well as learning more about how we can plug into local organizations where can directly support our neighbors in need.

In addition to our in-person events, The Women’s Social Club also has its very own online Member Portal! With access to WSC’s community portal (including an app for your phone or tablet!), members have access to connect directly with other members, as well as keep up to date on all of our latest events and happenings. WSC Members are also in complete control of their subscriptions too! Through the portal, members are able to completely control how/when their membership renews, and can cancel at any time.

How can you join us? WSC is excited to now offer both Membership and Visitor Options!

Visitor Options: If you’d like to give us a try as a Visitor before you join, we recently launched a Visitor Program where you can purchase either a One-Time pass or One-Month pass (3 socials included). Those options can be found here: https://thewomenssocialclub.co/membership#visitor-options.

Membership Options: We offer both monthly and annual membership options. With our membership, you’re able to completely control how/when your membership renews, and you can pause your account or cancel at any time. Unlike visitors, members will have access to WSC’s online community portal. Those options can be found here: https://thewomenssocialclub.co/membership#sales-page-pricing.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
The main resource that helps me show up as my best self isn’t found in a book, app, or podcast. My weekly coffee, lunch, or dinner meetings with other women business owners is my absolute best resource!
