Today we’d like to introduce you to Maj3sty.
Hi Maj3sty, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After graduating with my Associates in Arts Degree, I decided to keep my promise to my mom and pursue my Bachelors of Arts. Upon graduating from North Carolina Central University, I began searching for my purpose. When professional football didn’t work because of a motor vehicle collision, I started searching for meaning to my life. Receiving my Bachelors from NCCU wasn’t good enough for me and my traumatic history with the university made graduating bittersweet. I found light in working with children and helping them to overcome their struggles. Being a Counselor and Teacher in North Carolina was a great experience, but it wasn’t fulfilling. Music allows for me to articulate the message inside of me without parameters. It seemed spirit-led to help children by spreading my message through music, but now I aim to spread my music to everyone. My focus became, being the light instead of searching for it.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road has not been smooth. Past struggles with anxiety, depression, and overcoming homelessness. I never knew how difficult it would be when getting acclimated to society again. Often times I find myself worrying over finances, scared of what tomorrow will bring, and treating each meal as if it may be my last. In 2014 I was misdiagnosed with schizophrenia. Although doctors apologized years later, because of the improper medication that was prescribed, I can feel how different I have become. Years go by and faces that were once important become a faint memory. But, what helps me to push through is My Father in Heaven, the love that is shared with those close to me, and my purpose.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the CEO of my own record label, Dan Fashion Entertainment, as well as a singer-songwriter and recording artist. As a musician, singer, and guitarist I specialize in revolutionary music. I consider my music an awakening because it is meant to elevate the listener. I am known for my single Last Trumpet (released 08/21/21), Big Steppa, and Babylon Burn. I do not like to stay stagnant. I believe that my spirit, intellect, creativity, and mission set me apart from others. I don’t desire to do music for fame nor fortune, I want to please The Father (God) and help people.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I want readers to know that as an artist, I want to make music that betters their spirit. I want readers to see the message in the music and in me.
