Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Ocampo.
Hi Timothy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a Raleigh native and grew up here my whole life until going off to college where I attended Guilford College in 2013. I played one year of Division III basketball while attending Guilford College until I decided to become a full-time student and then transferring to the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2014. There I graduated with a degree in Business Administration, concentration in Finance in 2017.
In 2018 I decided to get my real estate license and haven’t looked back since! I joined Costello Real Estate & Investments where I have grown and learned so much with other great agents. Our growth has been immense, I was the 14th or 15th agent at the firm then. Now we are large producing firm with over 100 agents!
In 2020 I rebranded my business with the help of my firm Costello Real Estate as, Tim Ocampo Real Estate Raleigh, or “TORE” Raleigh Empowered by Costello Real Estate & Investments. It’s so amazing to have a firm that believes in you and wants to see you be successful as a realtor as well as a business owner. Currently, I am hoping to build a team so that I can serve more clients and be able to give them the attention needed and that they deserve!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has been far from a smooth road! The biggest struggle for me when beginning was the age barrier and lack of experience. I look younger than I am and without having sold a house, why would anyone trust a bright-eyed 23-year-old right? I was able to overcome that with the help of the agents around me and using them as a resource for any questions that I couldn’t answer myself. And now I can say I’ve closed over $5 million in sales volume and helped over 20 families find homes and investments!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are one of the quickest growing Real Estate companies in the Triangle area, and what separates us from the rest is the culture. It’s hard to put it into words but the people that work here really care. There is always someone available for any questions you have in real estate of course but also personal things if needed. The company is the most agent-centric firm you’ll find and that can be seen through our motto of “Winning Together.” Every personal win is a win for the company and celebrated by everyone around! The company offers real estate services for residential and commercial real estate, whether it’s for personal use, vacation homes, or investments!
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something that may surprise people about me is that I have over 75 pairs of shoes and used to customize shoes. Back in high school and college, I used to really be into sneakers. I think it was partly due to the culture of being a basketball player, everyone who played just had a bunch of shoes, obviously, Jordans were the holy grails. I guess at the time some people would have categorized me as a “sneakerhead” but that’s not a title I ever would’ve gave myself!
