Hidden Gems: Meet Betty Vandivier of Rose & Stone Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Betty Vandivier.

Hi Betty, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Cary, NC in 2o10. Very soon after, I started working as a receptionist at a hair salon. I quickly fell in love with the industry and decided a few years later that going to hair school was the path I wanted to take. I graduated from Mitchell’s Hair Styling Academy in 2o14 and have been behind the chair ever since! As a mom, I’ve always had the mindset that growing my career and raising my son could actually be done simultaneously. In June of 2021, I decided to take a step in faith and open my own salon. It’s been SO much fun taking what I love to do and making it mine!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I started hair school when my son was 4 months old so juggling school & a baby obviously presented its own challenges. Fast forward to March 2020, I knew I wanted something more in my career but COVID had other plans. After the salon closed for 2 months, I came back more motivated and focused than ever before to set new goals for myself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Rose & Stone Salon?
Bree and I opened Rose & Stone Salon in June 2021. We knew that with our combined experience and love of the industry, we could really create & build something great. As a stylist, blonding has always been my passion and so much of my continuing education has been spent perfecting that and learning new techniques. Whether it’s highlights or balayage, I love helping clients achieve their dream hair while still maintaining the integrity and keeping it healthy. I think that the comfortability our clients’ experience in the salon from start to finish really sets us apart.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
One of my favorite things about the hair industry is how it’s ever-changing. Styles and trends are constantly updating and part of our responsibility as stylists is keeping up with those. As long as there’s a desire for people to love how they look and feel good about themselves, we as stylists will always have a role to play in that!

Pricing:

  • haircut – $55
  • partial highlight – $110
  • balayge – $175+
