Rising Stars: Meet Jennifer Faulk

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Faulk.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am an entrepreneur that has leveraged her skills gained as a corporate professional into the creation of a small business. I started my company based on an observation, and that observation was couples getting caught up in life’s routines. By getting caught in routines quality time spent with each other was rare or maybe not a priority. So, I created Date Night By Design, to assist couples with being mindful and intentional about their quality time via date night experiences.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I will say that the road has definitely been interesting. One of the main struggles has been getting out of my own way and really just putting in the time that the business needs. As an entrepreneur, I feel there is always going to be a learning curve and you must be able to allow yourself grace during those times that the road is not smooth. Also being open to change and having a level of flexibility.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work to create date night experiences for couples that they can appreciate, enjoy and most of all enjoy the time spent with each other. I create these experiences by preparing custom date night packages for couples which can range from a great evening out, a staycation in the city or a romantic experience in-home. I also host small couples’ events where couples not only enjoy a great event but they also get to meet and hangout with other great couples. I enjoy what I do because it makes people happy and I enjoy helping couples sustain their romance and connection.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Having a mentor as well as networking are important personally as well as professionally. My mentors have given me guidance, allowed me to see things from a different perspective, and help to navigate the unknown because of the experiences they are able to share.

Networking has allowed me to collaborate with others and provide some amazing experiences that I am able to share with my clients. It has also opened doors of opportunity that I did not know was possible.
