Light-Work Resources was started by social work, the life-partner team, Racquel Merritt, and Donald Norwood. Through individual spiritual journeys, the two sought and discovered the secret to peace and happiness, Love. By finding love for themselves, they were able to extend that love to each other and to each soul they encountered moving forward.
Their journeys led them to a partnership, publishing “A Journey to Spiritual Health”, a self-help guide to managing stress and finding peace. Spreading love or “Light Work” became their mission and Light-Work Resources Holistic Health Center was born. Join us on our journeys to be real, to be vulnerable, to be loved, and to be free.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Self-discovery, leading authentic lives, connecting with other humans who are on an authentic healing journey, and serving that population is a struggle because it’s a niche. Taking a holistic route in the health field is a niche. Operating from a cultural foundation is a niche. So the biggest struggle is letting the people know that we exist. These services are available in Raleigh, NC for people seeking an alternative route to healing.

Light-Work Resources Holistic Health Center is the area’s freshest approach to managing stress and maintaining health. We offer individual, couples, and family counseling and coaching, meditation, purpose-driven empowerment, yoga, and so much more!
We offer mental health support from a mind, body, spirit intersection. We believe in balance, being whole, and healing as a journey and not a destination. We don’t label or pathologize humans. Each of us has our “stuff.” We just need to understand and accept ourselves and our “stuff.” Then we can organize our lives in a way that prioritizes our unique needs.
We are most proud of being a local, independent source of support for our community and being rooted in a cultural foundation.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
As born and raised Raleigh natives, we now feel unique in the city. The area has grown so much and welcomed so many people from all over the world. It’s amazing to be walking through Pullen Park and to hear people speaking so many languages. It’s an example of things that have changed but in a beautiful way.
In order to best welcome the growth, local, independent businesses must thrive and represent the best of what the city has to offer. We need more attention and resources allocated to local curators who provide the culture of Raleigh.
