Meet Sarah Valeri of Hello Clutter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Valeri.

Hi Sarah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Sarah Valeri, the Founder, and CEO of Hello Clutter! I started out my career in Education teaching 6th-grade math in Wake County. It was there that the idea of organization really started to hit home for me.

There are so many things that we are taught as children: ABCs, how to share, and even long division… but there was never a class on how to organize. Insert: Hello Clutter! Officially founded in 2019, I started Hello Clutter by organizing any and every space I could find for anyone that would let me!

Now, I offer in-person organization, virtual organization and coaching, and courses and programs to help women that are craving their own transformation!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’m extremely grateful to have taken my business full-time in March of 2021, but it definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. I’ve been learning so much about the ins and outs of business ownership and how much work goes into it.

I love that I get to do what I’m so passionate about, but with it just being me in the business right now it’s very easy to feel burnt out. Eventually, the dream is to grow beyond a business of one, so prayers that day comes soon!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My official title may be “Professional Organizer” but what I do goes so far beyond that. I’m your mirror, accountability partner, advocate, and sometimes a shoulder to cry on. My mission is to help my clients say goodbye to their clutter and simplify their homes so they can feel free.

Clutter shows up in our lives in ways you might not even realize -physically, mentally, emotionally – and I’m here to transform your home so that you can experience the freedom that comes with living clutter-free! I take a unique approach to declutter and organizing, working with each client to support their individual needs and giving them a beautiful transformation. Organized clutter helps no one, so I’m there for you for the tough questions on what to keep, toss, or donate, as well as the pretty bins and final space reveal!

For Hello Clutter, it’s not just about the Insta-worthy after photo, it’s about the internal transformation that my clients feel after they’re able to let go of the items that are holding them back from the life they want to live.

Especially for women, there can be so much shame about the way our home looks, such high expectations to be “perfect”, and so much overwhelm with all that’s on our plate. We’re looking for progress, not perfection. If I can support you by helping you let go of that shame, and give you a space you’re proud of, I’ve done my job!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Professional Organizing has been a growing business for the past few years which is so great! I didn’t know this was a career option until I started in 2019, so I hope that it continues to be an industry with more growing awareness. I still talk to so many people that had no idea they could hire someone to help manage clutter and organize for them – so I keep spreading the word!

With more TV shows coming out around the profession, I imagine more growth of the industry, and hope that we all collectively can help the world live a bit more clutter-free!
