Meet Domo Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Domo Jones. 

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Moved to Raleigh the summer before my freshman year of high school. Became a part of the TV Broadcasting class at Millbrook high which sparked my interest in entertainment. In an article by the News & Observer, whom came to cover my class, I explained that when I went to college, I would minor in mass communications. Upon attending North Carolina Central University, around my sophomore/junior year, I began hosting concerts in the area and interning for ABC 11 and Radio one Raleigh. Once I graduated in 2012, I moved to NYC to intern at Sony Music/Bystorm Entertainment, whom was managing JCole’s career. I worked on his music as well as the beginning of Miguel’s career until 2013 when I moved back to Raleigh and created my brand “In the KNO w/ Domo”. The brand launched my web series “The KNO Show” where I’ve interviewed everyone from NIPSEY Hussle to Kendrick Lamar, Ty$, Bryson Tiller, DaBaby, and more! In 2015, I became a junior publicist for Medium Creative Agency, (Fka Medium PR Agency) assisting with the launch of Desiigner’s career. In 2016, I began as a radio personality for Curtis Media Group “The New Pulse FM 96.9/102.5”. Loved it but wanted more of a challenge. In 2018, I moved to San Francisco, CA where I’m currently the Manager of a 10,000 sqft recording and production studio for the global recording, distribution, and publishing label called EMPIRE. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. Moving, failing, being unsure of the unknown but having faith in yourself. I went through a multitude of emotions along this journey but I never let it stop me. Being away from my family was always the biggest struggle, but their support is what gets me through. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the CEO of In the KNO Consulting. An entertainment consulting firm that assists artist and brands with marketing, branding, promotions, and production that align with their goal maximum outcome. In short, I solve problems. 

I specialize in PR and management. I’m most known for hosting/ producing events, Artist PR, and solving problems. 

I’m most proud, that everyone that works with me, KNO that they can count on me. 

What sets me apart, I don’t stop and I cannot be replaced. I make it hard for the next which keeps me above the rest. Humbly though. 

How do you think about luck?
Not luck. Faith. I’m optimistic in all situations and understand that what’s to happen will happen and to adjust accordingly.
