Meet Aliyah Jagessar of Aliyah Foto

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aliyah Jagessar. 

Hi Aliyah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
When I was very young, I would always enjoy watching movies. It was amazing to see someone’s idea come to life on a screen. It came to a point where I believed that one day I would be involved in a creative sector. Starting from when I was about 12, I started to be very interested in photography and videography. I was actually gifted my first camera for my 13th birthday. I always liked the idea of capturing and creating new ideas. Because of that, I started to learn how to edit videos and take photos. Over the next couple of years, especially through high school, I kind of put it on to the side. It wasn’t until recently that my passion for photography began to spring up again, this was especially because of my sister who encouraged me to pursue it. And I did. I started my photography business Aliyah foto. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It never is a smooth road in anything you decide to pursue. Some major challenges that I had to face included learning the technology behind photography, learning to be open-minded to new ideas, and not having enough storage on my laptop to save my work. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has been there. I also had to be willing to learn from those who were more experienced than I was. Though these aspects seemed challenging, I had to overcome them so that I could move forward with what I wanted to accomplish and achieve. 

We’ve been impressed with Aliyah foto, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Aliyah foto is a photography-based business. We do weddings, birthdays, engagements, and all other events. We also work with what the customer wants for their event. We keep an open mind so that we can be as creative as possible and to make all events memorable. We believe that capturing different events for our customers helps them to make lasting memories. 

Any big plans?
For Aliyah foto, I plan on one day having my own photo and video studio. This would be a place where I can expand my business along with my creativity.
