Check Out Yolanda Tate’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yolanda Tate.

Hi Yolanda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I first pride myself on being an amazing mommy to my 9-year-old son! He has changed my life tremendously and shaped the way I move! I’ve been working on Girl, You Got This devotional for some time. These past three years, I’ve had a lot of changes in my life. I’ve gotten divorced all while during a pandemic and obtaining my master’s degree.

Working at a company where there was more stress and less appreciation than anything. During this period I’ve had several deaths in my family, even losing my father. I even at one point decided to take my life because I couldn’t identify who I was. But God spared me. Even after having to start over and the different obstacles I’ve had to endure, I didn’t give up or let that stop me! With God, my Faith, and incredible support system I’m still here to tell others my story in a pursuit to help someone else.

I’ve always had the desire to inspire women and to let them know that they are everything. Growing up, I was always known as everyone’s hype woman. I take pride in encouraging my friends and others that I don’t even know. I’ve prided myself on understanding that you never know what a person is going through so if at all possible, be kind and always leave with a smile. I want to always make the best impact and be a good example to my son!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road in getting this devotional out. I felt like everything was stacked up against me.

I even went through writer’s block. I remember only having 10 days done sitting outside my son’s basketball practice and being like God, you’ve given me this assignment I need some help literally in 40mins I had the other 80 days and sent everything to my designer, However, I have such an amazing team that has helped me along the way to make this happen.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My profession I have a background in Marketing and Communications. I currently am the director of Marketing and Communications for Girl Scouts- North Carolina Coastal Pines. I also have a small social media marketing firm called Kent Consulting.

I also have a blog where I inspire women! Now, I’m an author of Girl, You Got This.

What sets me apart from others is that my faith is on 10000. I absolutely believe that I can do anything that I set my mind to. I believe on a whole other level. Another thing that sets me apart is that I’m every woman’s favorite hype woman! I pride myself on this.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
One of my favorite podcasts is The Cheylaina Fultz Talk Show on YouTube! I love how she also is inspiring women! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmozjgIwy4PEigwX4p0k1JA.
