Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaleel Glover and Tevin Henderson.

Please kick things off for us with some background on the story.
The story of The Exquisite Taste Bartending and Hospitality Services, Co. is truly an actualization of coworkers, turned friends, turned brothers, and business partners that couldn’t have been more divinely orchestrated. We met a little over two years ago at Old Town Club in Winston and became fast friends. We both have a heart for service and we are very good at what we do for that reason.

Both of us have a plethora of skills acquired in our years of work in mainly Country Clubs and also High-in hotels and restaurants focused primarily on bartending and general service. Both of us just so happened to have been setting up private bartending events with members of the clubs we were working at out of their private residence. We were talking one day about the parties we were about to do and I said to Jaleel “you wanna just partner in this and do it together?”

And of course, he was game and excited as I was. From that point on we’ve been building the business up very quickly. At this moment we’ve been operating as a business for less than 2 months however our clientele has been steadily increasing and our reputation is very impeccable so far and we plan to keep it that way. We’re still both very excited and very optimistic about our future as a business.

I said from day one that I don’t even want to start this business if we don’t see ourselves doing this for the next forty years. We’re nowhere near started yet and we’re more than ready to continue to provide great service!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would have to say one of my biggest obstacles was to stop letting the fear of failure dictate my actions. I have wanted to start this business ever since I grew a passion for bartending over this past summer after being in hospitality for 6 years. With the help of my partner, we were able to put our dreams into a reality.

After jumping the hurdle of just starting (choosing a name, getting our business license, setting up our bank account etc.) our next challenge was getting connected with the correct clientele. We had the business, the time, the fire; but what we needed were clients. We spent about two months networking and making the right connections throughout the country clubs that we worked at to get to where we are now.

After our first 3 events before we teamed up, word of mouth spread like wildfire about how we performed during these functions. With that being said, we were able to put our contacts together and combine our potential clients.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are a full-service bartending service that mainly caters to in-home gatherings and private events, but what we specialize in is cocktail bartending. It’s an art to create consistent quality cocktails for any occasion and every crowd. Not only do we exhibit exceptional bartending service, but we’re also well versed in proper fine dining etiquette and protocol.

We ensure that everything that is normally a burden on the host is more than taken care of with us there and the host is able to join the party they’re throwing for their friends. Our company’s slogan is “We host the host, so the host can join the party!” and we sincerely mean that for our clients. We want the host to be able to relax, have that second or third drink, laugh way too loud, and know for sure they are fully taken care of with us in the room.

I believe what sets us apart more than anything is our sincere love for service combined with our years of experience with cocktail creation and fine dining service. What will always set us apart is our personal commitment to go above and beyond in any occasion We’re in the room. It’s our mission to leave such an impression with our above and beyond service that the name and business logo will always return a pleasant response. I’m personally most proud of our drink track record.

I can’t think of a single person that has returned their drink at a function or said they couldn’t drink what we made. I know we’re both
extremely talented bartenders so together behind the bar it’s like a well-oiled machine and the accuracy of every drink is crucial. We both understand the assignment and deliver every time.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I have learned that patience is a virtue. When starting our business I wanted to move quickly and get our names out there to the community as fast as possible. Being patient and letting our work speak for itself was essential.

Word of mouth spread quickly around our close-knit clientele and we were able to start filling up our calendar pretty passively and get the supplies we needed to upgrade our bartending service as we grew.
