Meet Nicole and Jesse Farese of Dainty Little Lamb

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole and Jesse Farese.

Hi Nicole and Jesse, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Nicole: I have always had a passion for taking and editing photos as well as working with children. It took me quite a while to realize though that newborn photography was the ideal career for me. I found my way to this career in an odd way though.

My husband Jesse and I have had much involvement in the real estate space and we obtained our NC brokerage licenses. Through doing that I thought it would be a great idea to also get involved as a real estate photographer so I could take and edit photos for our listings.

I started taking photos of my daughter and realized I had a natural eye for newborn photography when I started to receive tons of compliments and inquiries for my services from others! I’ve always been around children as I’m the oldest of six, and I love being able to capture the precious early moments for parents.

I’ve done several mentorship’s, taken safety courses, and I’m really pushing my brand Dainty Little Lamb as a Raleigh Newborn Photographer this year. Your children are only little for so long and I know personally I would not want to have missed the opportunity to have professional photos taken of them so early. It’s an investment that stays with you for a lifetime.

On the Real Estate Front;

Jesse: Both my wife Nicole and I are licensed real estate agents here in North Carolina. We’ve been involved in real estate for several years from negotiating commercial leases, to becoming landlords owning several long-term rentals, and even doing a complete life in house flip.

We’re inspired to help people relocate from out of state as we moved from New Jersey ourselves and found the quality of life to be much better! We also partner with investors to help meet their needs since we invest locally as well.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Newborn Photography:

Nicole: It’s definitely been a mix of smooth and rough patches getting started. I took to the camera and editing almost immediately so this part was smooth sailing. However, focusing on growth now it’s hard to get my name out there with my brand.

I’m working on local business collaborations and model calls to help spread the word. Newborn photos are one thing I’d also encourage everyone to have on their baby shower registry! It’s an excellent gift and is becoming more and more popular.

Real Estate:

Jesse: There are quite a few realtors in the area. Working with people and standing out to identify their needs comes naturally to me. I’ve always been a people person and a problem solver. The tough part has been getting our name out there with so much competition in the area.

We’re continuing to market and work with our clients to show the value we bring to the table.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Newborn Photographer: Dainty Little Lamb.

Nicole: I take so much pride in my newborn photography work! I love posing little ones safely and properly to take lifetime lasting photos of them. I emphasize my safety training and mentorship training over others. You should only want to trust a select few people handling your little ones properly so safety is my priority.

I’ve been published a few times and won a few awards for my newborn work recently. I’m very detail-oriented and love to please my clients! I’m so excited to continue to grow my brand and share it with the local North Carolina Triangle area.

Real Estate:

Jesse: Nicole and I take clients’ needs very seriously. With 70 people a day moving to wake county there’s very stiff competition. You really want to make sure you have a realtor that doesn’t take on a large number of clients and can pay the right amount of attention to you while having your best interest in mind.

We pride ourselves on working with only a handful of clients at a time treating each one with the attention and respect they deserve.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Newborn Photography – Dainty Little Lamb:

Nicole: Really spend some time researching your potential mentors’ work and reach out to them. Make sure safety is a top priority if theirs and you feel like you have the opportunity to learn a lot from them.

My mentorships were so valuable to my learning process. I’m excited for the day I branch out more and start mentoring others myself to share my knowledge.

Real Estate:

Jesse: Networking is huge in real estate. Find a great way to connect with your local community and show the value you have to offer as well. Figure out what makes you stand out from the rest.
