Meet Noah Rawlings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Rawlings.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I graduated from Landmark Christian School in 2017. I re-tore my ACL my freshman year of college.

After taking a year off, I played 2 years of college basketball at Pensacola Christian College. While planning to transfer schools in the fall of 2021, I received a job offer from one of the parents of some of the first kids I did basketball training for. He had just built a gymnasium and wanted someone to run camps.

After contemplating if I was willing to end my college basketball career, I decided I would, and accepted the offer. That was in May of 2021. We started with just summer camps and have since grown to year-round classes, AAU teams, skills and performance training, and more.

Our team at Triple Threat, which consists of Jason Truesdale (owner), Patrick Walton (Facility Director), and myself (Basketball Director), has big plans for the future! Some of my responsibilities include camps, 1on1, and group training, assisting with classes, and running the social media accounts.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely had some bumps in the road. After 2 ACL surgeries in less than 18 months, I played at Pensacola Christian from Fall 2019-December 2020. This year and a half consisted of complications with my knee as well as the Covid outbreak.

I decided to leave PCC in December of 2020 for personal reasons and return home. Six months later, I accepted the offer to do a job that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My title at Triple Threat is Basketball Director. I am also the camp director and skills trainer. I train athletes of all ages.

Whether that’s in classes, camps, group training, or private workouts. I also run the social media accounts, promoting the business and posting educational videos. I am blessed with the opportunity to help the next generation while doing something that I am passionate about. I love the relationships I get to build through my work.

It is amazing to watch the progression of the athletes and be a part of their process.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I use YouTube as the main tool for educating myself on the game. Whether it’s watching other trainers’ videos or studying game films, YouTube is obviously filled with gold. I am currently reading “Skill Acquisition In Sport: Research, Theory and Practice”, which I would highly recommend for anybody who works with athletes.
