Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Jones.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started in the beauty industry in 2010 right out of high school, but I knew it was my passion from a very young age. I’ve worked with the Paul Mitchell Schools for 8 years educating, recruiting, and even working in the financial aid department.
Salon life was also a huge part of my life for many years as I could never settle on just one part of this wonderful industry. Now I run Pinup Bridal’s wedding and event coordination full time!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
When I moved to Raleigh in 2019, Christina hired me as the Bridal Coordinator and a stylist in our full-service salon, Pinup Studio. Shortly after I started, Covid19 rocked our world, and not in a good way.
I had to scale back in the bridal world because weddings weren’t happening so I built my books in the salon. This wasn’t an easy task, starting completely over in a new city but with a little hard work, social media and referrals I was able to have a full clientele within the year! Now here we are at the beginning of 2022 and the world is slowly opening back and weddings are in full swing. I’ve now completely retired from working behind the chair and am solely working on building our bridal business up. We’re growing so rapidly that my focus here lately is expanding our team and hiring new professionals. It’s been quite an experience learning all about the wedding world and how beautiful it is.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run Pinup Studio’s wedding team, Pinup Bridal!
While I personally do not participate in hairstyling or makeup applications anymore, I still love the thrill of booking an excited, newly engaged person for their special day! Our team is made up of full-time stylists at Pinup Studio and a range of freelance artists that all have a huge passion for weddings. I’m beyond proud of my team.
They work hard to stay up to date on the latest trends, participate in ongoing education, and put in long hours for some incredible weddings and shows here in Raleigh. We are trying to build a diverse team that focuses on being inclusive for all genders, ethnicities, and religions.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We’ve gone mobile! Pinup Bridal is now offering a beautiful, mobile bridal suite, The Blush Bus! The Blush Bus is a remodeled RV that we’ve modernized and made into the perfect place for our wedding parties to get ready in.
