Today we’d like to introduce you to Tia Squires.
Hi Tia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I never planned to become a blogger, it kind of just happened! It all started with the vision of my Facebook friends. They thought I would be a great person to step into the world of journalism.
Honestly, when I first started I had no idea what I was doing or how to run a business. Everything I know now was 100% self-taught. I didn’t always win though, I took a lot of “L’s”. Rejection is hard for us all but I couldn’t let that stop me.
I was determined that I would keep pushing forward and won’t lose sight of the goal.
With much hard work and dedication, I finally started to knock down walls and walk through doors that were once closed. Believing in myself and building a team that shares the same vision as I do, is one of the main reasons I am where I am today. There is still so much for me to learn and do. I’m ready for the challenge! Bigger and better things will come from Tea With Tia.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wish it was a smooth road!! I have struggled with gaining followers, engagement, finding dedicated people to assist with the brand, getting selected for interviews/events, etc. These were just minor setbacks that set me up for a major comeback. My business is flourishing and becoming a household name.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a content creator. I don’t like to box myself in by saying I’m a blogger or journalist. I do way more than what meets the eye. Creating content for me is a daily task. I run a successful blog on all major social media platforms.
I am best known for my personality and my blog. I host events, celebrity interviews, press conferences, and red carpets. I am most proud of my ability to break into this profession with little to no help. My personality and interview style sets me apart from others that do what I do.
My ability to pay close attention to detail and really know what I’m talking about is something my fans/followers/supporters love about me.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck or coincidences. I truly feel that everything that happens (good or bad), that it’s happening for a reason. In our lifetime, we will receive lessons and blessings. I’ve been very fortunate for the opportunities that have come my way.
I’m even thankful for the no’s I received because it motivated me to keep going. I always say “NO” means “Next Opportunity!” I will forever stand on that.
