Meet Kelly Flanagin of GoldLeaf Interior

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Flanagin.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

I’d love to introduce myself as the owner of GoldLeaf Interior!

We are a small business interior design company with over 10 years of experience. We are appropriately located outside of Raleigh, NC near the FURNITURE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. My background in design, real estate, and property management allows me to offer an elite set of services in the design industry.

Here is the part where I tell you a little bit more about me, so you can grow to love my business as much as I do and to know what drives me! As an adolescent, I chose to watch home improvement shows over cartoons. I walked my first new construction project at three years old. I took off my shoes during a tour of Monticello to feel the floors when I was in high school. I gasped while walking the streets of Italy at the beauty of every doorway after graduation from East Carolina University. I started my own design business after completing my graduate studies. Most recently, I worked for one of HGTV’s most popular TV shows!

Interior design has been inside of me ever since I can remember. It’s simple. I was born to do this!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

I started my business during a pandemic with major supply chain issues. While dealing with 7-month furniture delays, our clients were understanding. I saw the need for design in my community.

Everyone was at home and the use of spaces in homes was changing. We saw quite an increase in home office designs. The end result outweighed the supply chain wait. Though there is still a lingering effect there has been improvement in shipping times. Some vendors now have a 3-month turnaround.

We will continue to see the trickling of delays, so it is important to take this into consideration when planning the timeframe of a project. I will work directly with my client to give realistic expectations, which makes for a smooth design process.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

There is an influx of people relocating to the Triangle Area, real estate is at an all-time high, and new construction is flying up. All of these factors have been carefully considered when putting together the services we offer.

All clients have the ability to customize their design services. We work with relocation, investors, builders, and homeowners. Our services have been broken down into three categories, which are explained below:

INVESTMENT FURNISHING: Residential design for investors, landlords, vacation rentals & flip properties.

Whether you’re looking to maximize your property value or turn your space into your desired oasis, we will fully furnish everything from furniture and lighting down to dinnerware and linens. This is a turnkey service to flip or immediately rent your property to start earning your highest potential revenue.

Relocation- Relocating to the RDU area? Investment furnishing service would be perfect for you! By the time you arrive, you will have a fully furnished home. Let us make your relocation seamless.

REAL ESTATE STAGING: Staging for sellers, developers, real estate brokers & salespersons.

The home selling process can be stressful and chaotic. We are here to make this a seamless experience for you. Whether we are consulting, reworking your existing furniture & accessories to give your home a facelift, or bringing in all-new staging pieces, we will work directly with you and your needs to convert your home into a photogenic and visit-ready space.

WHITE GLOVE DESIGN: Customize design for our clients.

The Rolls Royce of design service! You don’t need to lift a finger. We will develop the concept, material, and textures for your interior design, to optimize your space and unique floor plan. We will source, shop, and order furniture for you within your timeframe. For the grand finale, we will bring the vision to life by completely installing and setting up all aspects of your new interior, ensuring full readiness for the big reveal!

Our design process always starts with getting to know our clients. The first step is calling or emailing us to book a consultation. We look forward to meeting you!

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.

We love a good risk. To us, it means there is an opportunity for growth. Our company is predominately residential projects, but recently we were approached to design a commercial restaurant. We couldn’t say yes fast enough! Follow us on social media for project updates @goldleafinteriorsllc.
