Meet Stacey Brown of The Black Feather Intuitive

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Brown.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been psychic all my life… I just never realized that the weird, sometimes scary, often miraculous experiences I had were actually psychic! It began with dreams that would come true, and random “knowings” about things that I had no prior exposure to. As a child, I did not have people around me who understood why I was so different, so sensitive, or that these powerful “knowings” were nothing to fear, so I shut down from an early age. I’ve spent the better part of my life rediscovering and embracing my true nature.

When I went away to school at 18, I had my first psychic reading and purchased my first tarot deck. From that time on, I’ve been drawn to the mysteries of the metaphysical on all levels. Every psychic or medium I would visit told me the same thing: You should be on the other side of this table giving readings. I fantasized about this being true but did not have the confidence. So I dabbled. I searched for meaning and explained away my own experiences as something I’d made up wishful thinking, or just plain dumb luck.

In 2013, I moved to the US to be with my then-husband. I’m originally from Canada, and due to immigration laws, I had a year where I was not allowed to work. It was during this time that I decided to seriously explore what was always there in the back of my mind, and bubbling under the proverbial surface of my skin. I went to a local psychic fair and met my first mentor. We connected a week after our first encounter for a “teaching” session on how to unlock my psychic gifts.

She had me give her a reading right there – I was terrified because I had no idea what I was doing! She explained her process for receiving guidance and patiently walked me through it. When I told her I wasn’t ready, she did not take my fear for an answer and threw me into the deep end of my intuitive pool.

And in that 40-minute reading experiment, what I discovered was that I was indeed Psychic. She validated all the things I saw and felt about her, with having met her briefly once. I gave predictive information that came to pass, and I even tapped into one of her Spirit Guides that had been with her for years. My mind was blown… I really was a psychic!

Within 3 weeks of that first meeting, I knew I had come home to my soul purpose, and hung the shingle on the door! I’m entering my 9th year of service in this way, and I’ve never looked back.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ha! Smooth?! I’ve yet to meet a Lightworker, Energy Worker, Healer, Empath, or Sensitive Person who’s had a smooth ride! I believe we actually tend to come from tumultuous backgrounds and situations so that we can be more relatable to those we are here to serve in this world.

For me, I was born into chaos and continued that cycle in my own life for many years before really connecting to the idea that I can choose to live differently. I was raised in an alcoholic home where there was a great deal of abuse. My family is extremely religious and believes that the psychic realm and all it entails is the work of the devil, so I’ve felt very alone and disconnected from the unconditional support of family. I’m a rape survivor. Until fairly recently, many of my adult romantic relationships mirrored my original family life, so there was much dysfunction and abuse.

I chose an original career path in the spotlight as an Opera Singer, where rejection was the norm and success was rare, which triggered much of my personal & social anxiety on the daily. I lived most of my life in a state of fight or flight as a result. I was diagnosed in my late 20s with an auto-immune disorder that came close to killing me several times. I’ve been through a divorce. I’ve lost many loved ones – to death, and to a lack of acceptance for who I am.

All of my life experiences have been put in my path to teach me the art and beauty of trusting in my own Inner Guidance. When others failed, I always had myself to rely on. Working to accept me and my gifts as Divinely Given, and create a supportive CHOSEN family, has been paramount in my success. I eventually came to realize that my Guides were there every step of the way, offering that Inner Guidance to support me and help me to thrive despite the odds.

And I wouldn’t change a thing… all of these traumas allow me to be present, understanding, and nonjudgmental when connecting with people seeking guidance and direction for their highest and best lives. I KNOW what they are going through because I’ve been there myself.

We have all come into this life with a specific soul path and a heart’s desire to become all that we feel we can be – for ourselves as well as for the greater collective. And it’s not always easy!
