Meet Ashley Autry of Rosé and Gold Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Autry.

Ashley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Ashley Autry, I am an NC State grad and have a beautiful 9 month old daughter and a wonderful husband. I have lived in the Raleigh area for over 10 years and truly love this area. In my free time (which I rarely seem to have these days) I love to go on walks, watch true crime and real housewives shows and try out new restaurants.

So I got married in October of 2019 at the beautiful Summerfield Farms. I had so much fun planning all the details of my wedding, especially creating spreadsheets and the DIY crafts. I knew that I wanted to fully enjoy my wedding day and experience everything I had planned, so I hired a coordinator. I did not think I needed someone super experienced and since my husband and I were paying for our entire wedding, I decided to go the budget route.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest struggle was launching a business during the start of COVID.

When March of 2020 came around, my husband and I actually had a trip planned to New York City for my birthday, we knew things were getting canceled and people were being asked to quarantine, and then 3 days before we were supposed to fly out, the restaurant my husband made reservations for called him to say they were shutting down.

That was the beginning of the chaos of COVID. The 5 weddings, I had booked turned into rescheduling and cancellations, and postponing. I had a lot of frantic brides trying to make quick decisions and we had to learn about new regulations it was a very challenging year, but I learned so much.

While we are still navigating through this and the wedding industry has forever changed, I still love what I do.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Rosé and Gold Events?
We are a full-service wedding planning business, we specialize in coordination and creating a beautiful day that reflects the couple’s love story. We go above and beyond to ensure that my couples have the most amazing day!

I would say what sets us apart is my assistant and I, is our willingness to help and step in wherever needed. We have become bartenders, cut cake, sewed a dress, and even climbed a tree to make sure that every detail of the wedding went to plan.

While unexpected things will always come up, we do our best to be prepared and resolve them quickly. We are ultimately problem solvers. I want readers to know that there are so many wedding planners in the industry but what makes us at Rosé and Gold Events different is we want you and all of your guests to just have the most fun!

We will make sure to have your drinks filled and guests dancing if that is important to you! We always joke and tell people when you book us you can relax, enjoy, and sip on the glass of wine (or Rosé) because you know your day will run smoothly.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I have learned to quickly adapt, we have been dealt with a global pandemic that is super unpredictable and all we can do is try to be prepared and then quickly adapt.

I sit down with couples and make sure I know what is most important to every couple and try to ensure that they can experience that on their wedding day, whether it is the food, their choreographed dance, or making sure they get every photograph on their shot list.
