Today we’d like to introduce you to Pat Newcomb.
Hi Pat, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I grew up with a passion for hunting. And my hunting style has always been very mobile- animals are constantly on the move and so am I. I’ve learned to trust my instincts on where to go.
I have been using mobile hunting blinds for years but always knew there was room for improvement to really fit the needs of being a true mobile hunter. Five years ago, I started designing what my wife and I consider to be the ultimate portable blind and once the design was in place a patent search was started.
There was nothing close to it. It took about 3 years and once the utility patent was issued we pulled the trigger on production. Fast forward to January 2022, Nukem Hunting was launched with its premier product being the Nukem Hunting Grab and Go Hunting Blind.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Defiantly not a smooth road but no challenge was viewed as dead ends.
Learning how to find and produce manufacturing was the biggest challenge we face. However, the ultimate challenge has been to upfront financially fund the business with all the interwork involved.

We are a family-owned business out of Asheville, NC. Looking to build a brand in the hunting industry. We are starting with the Grab and Go blind and plan to add more products in the near future.

On more than one occasion we were approached to be bought out or have the patent purchased with royalties deals. Each time, it was viewed as motivation to push harder and perfect what we stand for.
