Today we’d like to introduce you to Vinca Boljesic.
Hi Vinca, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I have been creative since I was a little girl. Arts and crafts always came naturally to me growing up, and when I was a teen, my “craft” manifested into interior design.
Throughout my middle, high school, and college years, I had always enjoyed making my room into an inspiring space for me to be in. Fast forward 10 years later, I have continued doing just that on a larger scale, in whole houses. I find it so energizing to let my creativity flow into a new project and see the space come to life.
It is truly a dream job.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A challenge I face regularly is figuring out how to have a beautiful home on a budget.
When I started out in my career, I was in my early twenties and I had to be smart about the furniture and design elements I used. Throughout the years, I have learned that you don’t need thousands to decorate and design a home.
I love DIYing a good corner and focusing on affordable home decor – finding bang for your buck where you need it most. I have learned the most through my DIY projects as well.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work full-time in the legal field as a patent agent.
However, my passion project and side hobby are interior design and decorating. I specialize in affordable home decor and making your home look fabulous with inexpensive pieces or design elements that make a big impact.
Wallpapering and adding trim or molding work is a great way to make a statement and DIYing this, is extremely cost-effective!
What do you think about happiness?
Designing a space that my clients love, and also being able to see the end result makes me happiest. I love seeing all the elements come together in a cohesive way – it is all so satisfying and even therapeutic.
