Conversations with Jasmine Galloway

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Galloway.

Hi Jasmine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello all, I am Jasmine Galloway the Owner of Forty-too Skincare. My journey hasn’t been easy but it has definitely been worth it. After decades of struggling with self-worth, love, and acceptance of the color of my skin, I began to see what was inside of me the whole time.

I’ve never appreciated the color of my skin due to past trauma from family because I wasn’t light enough to be loved, well at least I thought. I didn’t take compliments well, I would always think that the person was lying or trying to make me feel better.

I have four children ages; 20,18,17 and 15. People would always say, “my goodness you look like a baby”. I laughed it off, but one day I didn’t laugh. I looked in the mirror and started to see what I didn’t see the whole time, my natural face. I would use pounds of makeup to disguise my looks but one day I stopped. After seeing multiple people tell their stories, it was time for me to share mine.

At that point, I thought it was too late. Forty-too came from seeing multiple young entrepreneurs come up in the industry and become millionaires off of just one thought. I said to myself I can do it too. I knew 40 years was just around the corner. So I said to myself, who said you couldn’t be 40 and do it too and here we are forty-tooSkincare.

We offer natural products for all types of skin, but the story was built off of self-hatred for me because I never thought I was pretty enough because of my brown skin. This brand is to help, motivate, inspire and encourage older entrepreneurs that age should never define your purpose because baby… You can be forty and do it too!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest struggle was in my head. Once the mind decides to change the body will follow. I had to change to see change.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My hot seller has been my product JASELENE. This product has cured eczema, restored cuticles and it promotes hair growth. These are all-natural products.

It warms my heart when I see customers when I am out and about and they tell me the experience they have had with the product. JASELENE is derived from my name Jasmine (how cool).

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was always a comedian or a jokester and I used that to be accepted and it always stuck with me. I’m that friend that makes all my friends laugh when we hang out and when I’m not there, no one is laughing.

I’m approachable and I think my smile is contagious. I’ve had people purchase my product because they said my energy was just that beautiful. So I will never take this for granted. I think I’ve found my niche in life. After four medical degrees later. Wow!
