Today we’d like to introduce you to ARTacrobat
Hi Art, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
ARTACROBAT REPRESENTS THE FLEXIBLE NATURE OF THE ARTIST’S CREATIONS, INSPIRATIONS, AND USE OF MEDIUMS.
She coined the term ARTacrobat in college after a heated discourse with her advisor. Simply put, focussing on one medium was ENcouraged while working in multiple mediums–DIScouraged.
Blaspheme! She thought, and so ARTacrobat was born. That was in 2010.
Because guess what? in the required art history courses, we were taught all of the greats and THEY DID IT ALLLL.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not!
Lol… the biggest hurdle is self-esteem and self-confidence.
Being an artist isn’t readily understood by the general American public and people fear what they do not know.
It’s lonely and yet, I know I’m not alone.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
While she works in all mediums, her current favorite she coined “collage paintings.”
It allows her to use snips and strips of paper as if it were swashes of paint.
Bold colors, strong composition, and embedded riddles are what sets her work apart from the rest.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
With the popularity of the metaverse / web3 / nfts, she believes artists will finally enjoy sovereignty and a “decent” life while here on earth.
No longer are we dying before “seeing” the fruits of our labor. We are un-starved artists!
