Today we’d like to introduce you to Precious Wright.

Hi Precious, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since I can remember, I have loved hair. It was amazing to me to witness the transformation that one may go through just getting their hair done.

A great hairstyle can be the game-changer that one may need to repair their self-esteem, gain confidence, land that new job or even attract the love of their life.

Hair had an unspoken power that I had to learn more about. So by watching others I began braiding and styling hair at the age of ten. I love the versatility of hair and the changes I could make to my own so I began exploring with mine.

It was a plus for my Mom being a single parent because it helped her save money. So as I practiced more and more on myself and my skill increased… others started to notice. I then started to offer service to family and friends. I styled for years until family and friends convinced me to get my cosmetology license. I attempted cosmetology school for the first time at age twenty but life had other plans.

However, the love of transforming someone and giving them their confidence back was too strong to stay away. I went back to school at age twenty-six and completed my licensing. Today at forty years old, I am the Founder and Co-owner of Dry Roots Hair Care LLC. I started this company because I was natural and so was my Mother but our hair was struggling for different reasons.

I had just had my oldest son and my Mom is a diabetic. Commercial products were no longer working for us. So I began to do research on natural ingredients and remedies that would help our individual hair needs. Once I came up with formulas that were having amazing results on our hair I began customizing products for my clients and others. This experience with stepping out on faith and trusting God fully helped me produce Dry Roots Hair Care LLC products and services.

Not only do I customize products… I do consultations in-person to help a potential client with a healthy hair care plan that can be fulfilled by me providing the services or instructing you on providing home services. This has been very rewarding to see others achieve the hair goals they desire. And the love of serving and customizing for others has also sparked a completely new business idea for myself that has NOTHING to do with hair but everything to do with serving people.

I am a creator so I love solving problems that help others. So now as a hobby that I will soon make another business, I customize affordable headstones for families that can’t afford a traditional headstone. It’s a great pleasure to learn about the loved one I’m making the headstone for and I take from those nuggets of information and customize a piece that memorializes their memory forever.

So I’m a licensed cosmetologist with a hair loss Practitioner certification and self-made haircare line by day and a headstone customizer by night. I absolutely love it all.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wish I could say this road has been easy but it has been a difficult journey. I’ve had to overcome struggles with my health that at times look like would be the end for me. But I never gave up.

As I matter of fact, I can’t give up because every morning God blesses me to be alive it proves to me I haven’t reached the end of my destiny. I’m a Mom of two amazing young men ages nine and one years old. I wear my Mom badge with great honor.

And because of that, I can’t teach them to endure this cold world we live in and go for everything they want out of life if I don’t push through my own journey. Therefore, every day, I am blessed to see another day, and I will make it count.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a licensed cosmetologist with a hair loss Practitioner certification. I specialize in healthy hair and maintenance. Most people know me by my custom treatments and haircare line I have personally designed to an individual client’s needs.

I’m very proud of the successful results God has blessed me to achieve by assisting my clients with their hair needs. I feel that the level of customer service and care/attention that I provide my clients concerning the health of their hair sets me apart from others.

I do random check-ins, offer educational/informative videos, and do random giveaways to assist my audience with haircare needs.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I’ve learned to show my clients how to help me keep their hair healthy and maintained rather can offer them services or products to service themselves.

I also learned to appreciate the moments and give a person a great experience because if they forget my name they will never forget how I made them feel.
