Life & Work with Adriane Clark of Garner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriane Clark.

Adriane, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Adriane Clark, and I was born and raised in Greenville, NC. I graduated from North Carolina Central University with a B.A. in Mass Communication and have been in marketing for over six years. Outside of my career, I’m a wife, mother, singer, and the owner of GraceWins LLC.

In 2017, I was singing random lyrics in the shower, and the phrase “Grace Wins” came to mind. I thought it would be a nice t-shirt, but that was about it. A couple of years later, I was laid off from what I considered my “dream job,” and the phrase “Grace Wins” came back to mind. This time, I knew I had to do something with it. I was devastated by losing my job. However, I remained hopeful. I pondered on 2 Corinthians 12:9 — “My Grace is all you need; my power works best in weakness,” which helped form the foundation for the brand GraceWins. I wanted to create a community, safe place, and sisterhood for women who are not perfect but understand that they can overcome anything through God’s grace.

I officially launched in 2019 with a launch party, including a panel of women entrepreneurs in the area. They shared their journey and advised those who wanted to pursue endeavors, business, etc. Since then, GraceWins has continued to empower women through events, merchandise, live discussions, and more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth, and I wanted to quit several times. I got married and pregnant right before the pandemic hit, and after I had my son, I lost all my motivation. It was hard to find that balance and the desire to “pick up where I left off.” The thought of having to create content daily and keep up with new trends on social media made me exhausted, so I took a mini-break. I took time to focus on being a newlywed and mother, gave myself some Grace, and started back when I was entirely comfortable.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work in marketing, specifically social media management, in higher education. I love marketing, content creation, and helping brands expand their reach through social media. I am known for my creativity as well as my multifaceted skill set. I am most proud of my ability to work on multiple marketing projects while maintaining the marketing for my brand.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I’ve learned that my journey is just that, MY journey. Many women’s empowerment brands are out there, but that doesn’t mean my brand doesn’t bring something special to the table.
