Today we’d like to introduce you to Betty Cheung.
Hi Betty, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Growing up, I was always trained to think and act the way “society” told us to.
Finish college, find a steady job, get married, and have kids and I did just that. Except, I’ve never imagined myself being a stay-at-home mom.
I’ve always envisioned myself sitting in my very own office overlooking the beautiful city skyline. But, the moment I laid eyes on my firstborn daughter, I just knew… that this indeed was my destiny, my calling. Being a mom became my passion and the dream I never knew I wanted.
It’s truly inspiring as human beings how much we can accomplish once we allow ourselves to learn, aspire to and fully embody all the elements of whatever it is you need to reach your goal. Today, I’m a proud Mom of 3 beautiful darling girls. My husband & I love creating memories through experiences. Taking the girls out all the time and seeking new adventures is something we proactively do. There came a time when my husband had to start a new job in a different state first.
I stayed behind to let the girls finish school. It was one of the most challenging and darkest times of my life. I told myself, I can either sulk about it or take this opportunity to create something. It was then, that I decided to start a blog on IG. This would be my creative outlet where I was able to share our light and love of life. I started off by sharing our adventures. As my page grew, parents’ tips, and product recommendations all naturally followed.
It never felt like work for me because it was literally how we lived. This was the second time in my life where a dream job I never knew I wanted, became exactly that.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think it’s innate as human beings to appreciate something more when you have to overcome some level of challenge. Am I right? I definitely had a huge learning curve on how to start a blog. The hardest part of it for me was all the networking, engagement, and planning ahead components of it.
For me, personally, because I genuinely love what we do, I forget the business aspect of it. Taking a few crash courses on marketing, social media, & strategies completely accelerated my position and knowledge.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a full-time stay-at-home mom and a content /digital creator. I help many well-known brands streamline new product launches, provide marketing strategies, and create advertisements using a diverse array of media sources. I’m really proud of all my original work and ideas that have been created solely by me. But I am most proud of myself for how much I’ve accomplished as a mom & the dedication I have to my family.
As a digital creator, what sets me apart from others? I will always be me and not what others want me to be. I genuinely enjoy sharing & helping others. Especially busy moms like me who can use an outlet to just vent, chat, & simply take a breath. I believe in hard work & a solid foundation for long-term partnerships based on mutual integrity and respect. I will always turn down companies that I simply do not support.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
I love this question! Fun Fact, I am a twin and I also have another little sister. Making us 3 girls as well! I was lucky to always have my sisters by my side. My favorite memories consist of the simplest of times. We used to cut out all the jewelry photos from magazines and set up our own pretend jewelry store.
We would play for hours taking turns being customers versus store owners. And let me tell you, the jewelry set up looked as real as can be! From diamond earrings to bracelets. rings and more. Best times ever.
