Meet Gina Cassady of Garner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Cassady.

Hi Gina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Little Homecook from Raleigh is trying to chase her dreams. When I Started Ginas Way, I started selling Breakfast Plates out of my mother’s house. I started with nothing but breakfast, then turned into people wanting more and more menu options, so I did that turned into getting asked to make food for families, Events, etc. Fast forward Until now, I make a living from cooking for others. People ask me to cook for the most memorable moments in their life. I’m so grateful and full for my growth in this culinary journey. The love that has been shown to me and my business.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a smooth road?
This journey hasn’t been easy, but it is definitely, Rewarding. I’ve had many long nights, early mornings, 20 hours work days, putting together a team, and Finding like-minded people with the same vision and work ethic, I feel, has been the hardest part for me. But I thank God for My family. They always step up and help me out with so much.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I like to call myself a Food Gem. I love to recreate dishes, whether it’s classic soul food dishes, Asian dishes, Jamaican, or Italian. I take classic recipes and make them my way. It’s So many ways, styles, and creative things to do with food. It’s artistry. I’m not saying how I do it is the Right way, but it’s My way, and people enjoy it! I love Brunch menus because it’s like the best of both worlds. I’m known for brunch, especially my chicken and specialty waffles. Food is how I express myself. It’s a love language for me because I truly enjoy doing it, bringing people together with food, and seeing their reactions.

What would you say has been one of your most important lessons?
By staying consistent! You can not cheat the grind. It will only give what you put in it! The best teacher is experienced. Trail and error have taught me so much. Entrepreneurship is not for the weak you can Never limit yourself, and your business is Limitless when you believe in yourself and God’s word! Keep your eyes on your prize and focus on your growth and craft, not anyone else’s.
