Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Scott.
Hi Gabrielle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Brown Girl Enterprises was started by myself and my best friend Lynn Douglas. We were both non-profit leaders in our current cities. After experiencing personal challenges as new community leaders, Lynn and I decided to create a for-profit entity that assisted aspiring and existing nonprofit leaders in NC with establishment services.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a smooth road?
Almost a year after launching Brown Girl Enterprises(BGE), my best friend and business partner passed away from a rare form of cancer that caused a short break and revaluation of our company procedures.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Brown Girl Enterprises, LLC?
Brown Girl Enterprises, LLC is a business collective that provides nonprofit consulting and establishment services while empowering our community. With our signature 3 phase model, our clients will receive foundational tools for building your nonprofit, learn how to create and maintain program effectiveness and learn how to leverage community partnerships and secure funding. We also handle individual consults and conduct training for corporate and start-up teams.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
In business, the market is always evolving. Be willing to take advantage of training and partner with other organizations that share your same organizational goals.
