Richaunda Carr was born in Pitt County, North Carolina. Being raised in a small town with strong Christian values within her home, she viewed life through a unique lens as a young girl. At a young age, she identified her purpose in life as helping others. This passion and desire increased throughout her childhood and well into her adulthood. Richaunda attended Pitt Community College to fulfill her passion, studying Human Services Technology. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Shaw University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Capella University. In addition to owning Affinity Home Care, Richaunda is a Mental Health Therapist serving several demographics. She has worked with every population and within every demographic area during her career in the Human Services and Mental Health field, including several years in the medical setting. Having over 17 years of experience, Richaunda brings a broad perspective to this industry. In addition to her professional role, she is a mother of three beautiful children. In her free time, she enjoys attending church, traveling, fashioning, shopping, and spending time with her family. In recent years, having had a personal experience in needing to utilize home care services, Richaunda wanted to provide such quality to others. This personal life experience guided the birth of Affinity Home Care, LLC. Richaunda exemplifies having a welcoming personality, but most importantly, a demonstrator that embodies the core values of Affinity Home Care, LLC.—Personable. Individualized. Quality.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My road has not been smooth. I strongly believe that every person has a book written in their life. Every book is different. There may be similar stories, but each individual has a unique story that makes up their book. The pages in my book are exciting. I have been through the fire and struggles. I have encountered situations and people who have made every attempt to destroy me and break me. Throughout the battles in which I faced, I always utilized prayer as a means of helping to get through. I was reminded that diamonds are made under pressure. And guess what? Every diamond has a uniqueness that is not shared with others. I am a diamond; I am unique and ok with it.

We offer home care services to individuals of all ages (yes, children, adults, and geriatrics) across North Carolina. We provide services in the long-term basis and short-term. An example of short-term is if someone is having surgery and need assistance for 6-8 weeks. We accept multiple insurance plans, including Medicaid and VA. We also offer private pay with pay scale options. In addition, we offer training and consulting services. We are 1 of 8 trainers listed with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. We provide quality training while teaching individuals how to start and maintain the operation of their home care agency. We help individuals start their agency from scratch. Not only are we helping with the start-up of agencies, but we also provide continued support to individuals throughout their entrepreneurial journey with our consulting services. We are currently hiring Certified Nurse Assistants and Registered Nurses. Here at Affinity Home Care, LLC, we strive to provide our clients and customers with the best services.
