Exploring Life & Business with Gabriella Flemmings of Gabriella Elise Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriella Flemmings.

Hi Gabriella , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my events business during the pandemic and on accident. My mother was turning 50 and instead of having a grand party at a local venue we opted for a small gathering at home, but I wanted to find a way to mark the occasion so I made my first balloon display. I watched maybe one video before and for the 10ish friends my mom had over it was the highlight of the party. The next day one of her friends asked me to do another one in a few weeks for a birthday party, and two more people after seeing that one. What started as me trying to do something nice for my mother became a business.

After gaining some confidence in my DIY abilities, I opted to do the décor for my own wedding. Budget was definitely a factor here as well. My husband and I paid for just about everything ourselves and we didn’t want to overspend. I took online classes, watched hours of videos, and practiced for months. After doing my own wedding, a close friend asked I do hers as well.

Expanding into luxury picnics was actually because of my sister. She was graduating from college and there wasn’t a reservation available anywhere to accommodate our party. The idea of a picnic came up and I said I could DIY that too! I built a table from scratch. I bought the supplies and set up my first picnic.

I loved getting to be apart of people’s celebrations. From date nights to weddings to baby showers and all the birthdays in between.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I’m constantly learning, growing and evolving in this events space. I learn something from each event and apply that knowledge to the next one.

People matter most to me. I have the privilege to be apart of so many people’s celebrations and I strive to ensure they are happy with the décor so they can focus on the celebration itself.
