Meet Caitlin Dobbins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Dobbins.

Hi Caitlin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started as an intern in college writing wedding-related features for a wedding magazine. I immediately knew I was interested in the design section of the industry and fell in love. From there I worked with a dynamic team of women at a catering company who were heavily involved in the planning side of celebrations, too.

They were passionate and my love for this industry continued to grow as I watched them serve their clients. I ended up managing a few event venues and that’s when I decided to start planning full-time. I dove in and never looked back! We’ve evolved to full planning and design only, which allows us to give 100% of our talents to all of our clients.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I love what I do, but I’d be lying if I said it was perfect every day. We work with a lot of different personalities in this industry which can be the best but can also test our ability to flex. We strive to satisfy all our clients and if it’s anything less than a WOW 5-star experience I immediately take it to heart.

Learning to take feedback, evolve, and grow has been a struggle but I can honestly say we are where we are today because of the lowest lows that we’re learned from. Growing a team was a big fear of mine but without them, I’d be so bored! They are truly the BEST and I’m endlessly grateful for that.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Awww, I love this question! We design with our client’s stories in mind from start to finish. I find so much passion in curating an event that I’ve never seen before and that’ll make both the clients and their guests say, “WOW, this is so unique!”. It leaves an impression and creates a lasting memory.

It’s so much more than styling a pretty tablescape to me. We pour so much love into it and I believe that is what sets us apart from the rest. From foraging local organic elements to sourcing items at the most random locations, we really are not afraid to take an out-of-the-box direction in order to tell a design story!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
The harder you work and the nicer you are to those around you, the luckier you’ll become. I truly do believe this. My goal has always been to be a light in this industry.

Weddings are emotional and events can feel stressful at times, however, we don’t want that to become a burden to our clients and other vendors we work with. They should be FUN!
