Meet Tiffany Eubanks of Durham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Eubanks.

Hi Tiffany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Since I was a little girl, I have loved everything Beauty! I was mesmerized by the beauty, class, style, hair, and fashion of ladies in Hollywood. I was the one that used to do my aunt’s hair and friends’ nails and even cut and styled my own all between middle & High School. I began as a manicurist in 11th grade working in a hair salon. While I loved this, it was not allowing me to fully unleash my talent or spend time with my clients as I wanted. I quickly knew that my love of everything beauty was a ministry, and I wanted the most out of my talent. Upon graduation I became a TA in Durham public schools after completing my 1st year @DPS Beauty was still calling and I felt unfulfilled. That spring as school ended I enrolled in Carolina Beauty College. My soul was set free and I felt alive. I knew I was in the right place and soon would be doing what I loved.

As soon as I graduated, I went straight into booth rental because I knew it would make me work harder to gain clientele. Wow, those were the pre-social media days. I got out on foot, passing out cards and fliers at the malls, asking people to try me. I worked 4 jobs at one time and was in the salon during my off time. I was Willing to do whatever it took to make it in the industry. It didn’t take long for me to realize where my nitch was as the women who sat in my chair had neglected hair that needed serious TLC. I didn’t want to rush my ladies out of the chair, nor did I want to pile other appointments on top of them. It was obvious I wanted each woman that trusted me enough to sit on my chair 1) to feel like it was their time 2) be pampered 3) to relax, release their worries 4) to be restored 5) to come back and refer others. Between 1997 and 2019, I worked hard, became a licensed instructor with the NC cosmetic board, taught advanced theory at Mitchell’s Hair Academy in Cary, NC, perfected my craft, and launched health, wellness, and Beauty Business with Arbonne International, all while owning my salon.

As the pandemic hit and I found myself at home like many others, I realized it was much needed. I had never not worked. I chose to use this time for reflection, rest, and restoration. I needed it and I was exhausted. I revamped my dreams, goals, and business plan, and when the salons opened, I came back with every bit of excitement I had when I started. As I started back my prayers were more specific. I wanted to bless others, mentor others in our industry, help others excel, and help others launch a beauty business. I’m not a stranger to hard work or hustle. After coming back and being able to love on my ladies, they all affirmed that what I offered was rare, needed, and appreciated. People find it mind-blowing that 95% of my clientele have been with me for over 2 decades and have never been in another stylist chair. I’m so thankful for them because there is no Beauty By Tiffany Denise without them. They are more than clients, We are family. So with confirmation from God and support from my family, I decided it was time to go for one of the big goals and open some salon suites.

I’ve had the one-on-one concept for years, and in my salon, each stylist always had their personal space. Opening a business coming out of the pandemic was nothing short of challenging; it had several ups and downs, delays, no-shows of contractors, and the list could go on, but God said let it be, and I’m so happy that while we still have a bit to do, I officially opened the doors of Shear Luxury Salon Suites and Shear Artistry Academy ( a training space for beauty professionals and host space for small business). My suite concept is different, but so is my vision. We offer various suite options, including an on-site fashion boutique, a gourmet coffee room, and a training academy. I’m super thankful as we are officially a one-stop salon suite and we are women running professional and amazing beauty businesses! It still feels unreal, but I’m glad I stuck with it. Whatever you do, never give up on your dreams! As the ladies have told me, me going after my dreams helped them achieve theirs. I don’t take it for granted I’m thankful.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been tons of setbacks, no shows of contractors, delays in materials, soaring material costs, etc.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in Healthy hair repair and mentoring those starting a beauty business. I also teach classes to make sure I help others avoid all the mistakes I made. I also train others to own their health, wellness, and beauty business and excel with social marketing. I also provide suites and not only teach entrepreneurship but create a space for beauty professionals and enthusiasts to be their boss, the CEO of their brand.

What makes you happy?
Seeing others happy and successful, gifting and helping others, spending time with my family and creating memories for those around me, and teaching others how to create much-needed self-care time.
