Inspiring Conversations with Kimberly Boone – Evans of SaNora Cares

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Boone – Evans.

Hi Kimberly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
How did I get started? Well, that’s a loaded question, mainly partly because it was a rocky start. In short. Patience & Prayer. I was born to two teenage parents and immediately placed into the foster care system to be adopted by my 1st birthday, and that moment shaped the work that I now carry out today. Upon graduating from high school, I attended undergrad at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC. In 2005 I became a stay-at-home mom to a beautiful baby girl. Now fast forward 5 years. I embraced the world of Corporate America for 12 years until I manifested the blessing of retiring at 40! Now, I am the CEO + Founder of SaNora Cares. This nonprofit organization supports youth transitioning out of the US foster care system by providing stable housing and other essential resources for independent living.

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My path has been my path and mine alone. Certainly, there have been hills and valleys, blessings and lessons, but I am thankful for it all. I see my “setbacks” as “set up” for the success I have acquired—no regrets, just thankful for the opportunity to pay it forward.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about SaNora Cares?
SaNora Cares (SaNora – a combination of my birth mother’s name, Sarah, + my adopted mother’s name, Nora = SaNora) was officially established in 2021, but it all came to light in 2020. A few months shy of my adopted mother’s passing, I sat reflecting and grieving during most of the pandemic. I prayed without ceasing, asking God to grant me my life assignment in this new season. I realized that my late mother had spent her time on Earth fulfilling her assignment without fail, and I wanted to experience the same. My prayers were answered. Thus we have SaNora Cares! We kicked off 2023 providing safe, comfortable, and move-in-ready accommodations to 3 young ladies! My team and I are working to understand their needs and dreams while creating a plan to meet the above.

We’d like to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I don’t believe in luck, prayer, and manifesting; sign me up for that!
