Meet Benjamin Logan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Benjamin Logan.

Hi Benjamin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I’m Benjamin Logan, the owner of Logan Wood Studio. I have been building and designing furniture for over five years, and I’ve always had a passion for working with my hands. I started Logan Wood Studio out of my garage during the summers while I was a high school Science teacher. Eventually, I grew the business to the point where I could transition into doing it full-time.

At Logan Wood Studio, our goal is to create heirloom-quality furniture with a passion for design and craftsmanship. As a creator, much of my inspiration comes from studying traditional Japanese and Scandinavian design. We believe that furniture should not only be beautiful but also functional and timeless.

We take pride in working with our clients to create custom pieces that fit their unique style and needs. Our attention to detail and commitment to quality sets us apart, and we believe that every piece we create tells a story that will last for generations.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Similar to other small businesses, we have faced various challenges, but I believe my experience serving in the Army and as a former educator has taught me the value of a strong work ethic and a positive mindset in overcoming obstacles. Although I still have much to learn, I have a solid foundation and benefit from good mentorship.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Logan Wood Studio, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a custom furniture design and maker specializing in creating heirloom quality pieces for residential and commercial spaces. We work with a variety of hardwood species, including walnut, maple, ash, oak, and cherry, depending on availability. Our range of finishes can be tailored to suit our client’s preferences, and we also offer CNC and laser engraving services to add unique, personalized touches to our pieces. We take great pride in our work and are committed to delivering the highest quality furniture that is built to last. At Logan Wood Studio, we use premium materials and expert craftsmanship to ensure that our furniture is made right and made to last.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
As a furniture maker, I prioritize quality above all else. My ultimate goal is to create pieces that not only look stunning but also function well and endure the test of time. Precision and attention to detail are paramount in my work. I aim to showcase my skill, knowledge, and creativity in each piece I create, striving to deliver unique and bespoke items that stand out from mass-produced furniture.

I believe that the details make all the difference, and I take great pride in crafting seamless finishes and ensuring every joint is perfectly aligned.

Customer satisfaction is also of utmost importance to me. I take the time to understand each customer’s needs and preferences, working closely with them to bring their vision to life.

While aesthetics are significant, I also prioritize functionality, ensuring that my pieces are practical and serve their intended purpose.

Sustainability is another key consideration in my work. I am passionate about minimizing my environmental impact, using responsibly sourced materials, and employing environmentally friendly practices whenever possible.
